Best of luck to everyone going in the next few days. It's one of the best decisions you could've made for urself. At times u may feel regret or frustration, but it will just be a little hurdle. Once you start to see the progress it will all be worth it. Remember we didn't become overweight in a week, so we sure can't loose the weight in a few days. This is all a learning experience.

It's crazy to me how different the Dr's do the pre-op.
My Dr said for the day before the surgery clear liquids only, so for me that would just be Monday 8/29. This is also same for one week post-op. Clear chicken and beef broth, strained clear Soups, sports drinks, fruit juices (no pulp), apple juice, white grape juice, white cranberry juice, Water, tea, coffee (no cream or milk), koolaids, tang, popsicles, Jello, ice chips.
Also the day before, Monday, 4pm and again at 6pm a 10 ounce bottle of magnesium citrate.
After midnight, nothing and be at the surgical center at 6am Tuesday.
Prior to today for the last week, I've basically just done a combination of Premier Protein shakes, lean meals and food funerals! I've only lost about 9 pounds since I made the decision for VSG, and my ultimate goal is 40-50 pounds.

I know how you feel. I was supposed to have surgery 3 years ago and I got so much anxiety that I backed out 2 weeks before. So many times since then I had wished that I would have just gone through with it. Last November I started this journey again and am scheduled for surgery in 4 days, Aug 30th. Of course I have anxiety but this time I am more excited and ready to start my healthier life. Talking with other people who have gone through this surgery has helped me tremendously. Any surgery is scary but just remind yourself that in the end you will be so happy you did this. Best of luck to you!

All of these comments have helped me so much. I have surgery in 4 days and the doubts started to creep in last night. I am currently sitting at the hospital waiting for preop and the butterflies are everywhere in my stomach.... Ugghh! I check in at noon on tuesday. Why do they do that to us?? I wish i was in first thing in morning.

Disneygirl70 got a reaction from mtn10ac in One more week and counting the days
I started this journey back in November when I went to an informational meeting with a friend. My insurance required 6 month nutrition visits in which I lost 18 pounds. I was scheduled for surgery in July but found out I had a cancerous tumor on my kidney so I had that removed at the end of June. Thankfully they got it early, no chemo or radiation! Now I am scheduled for Aug 30th and I am so ready to get this over with and start my new journey. I'm scared and excited, I guess that's normal. Any positive thoughts or comments appreciated.
