  1. Hi, I am 3 days out and my dr gave me a prescription for liquid sucralfate. I am supposed to take it 4 times a day...Yuck! I know several people who have had sleeve surgery and none of them have ever heard of this medication. I'm wondering if anyone else here has to take it. I believe I am only going to have to take it this first month. It's very expensive and nasty tasting. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am 4 weeks post surgery and am having difficulties getting in all the recommended Protein. I feel like the only way to get it all in is to drink Protein drinks but then that would all I would be able to get down in a day besides my Water. What is everyone else eating to get in their protein?? Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Protein Protein Protein

I have no idea. They said no snacking between meals. If I don't snack or have protein drinks between meals there is no way I can get on enough protein. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Protein Protein Protein

I was on pureed food a week ago and was cleared last week to start Proteins as whole but need to chew a ton before swallowing. I'm only supposed to have 4 oz of Protein Drink if I have that as a meal. Also no eating or drinking protein between meals. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App
  5. My first week post op I had lost 16 pounds, I was so excited! Today I had my 3 week post op appointment and I am up 1 pound. What the heck!! How did I not lose weight in 2 weeks and actually gain a pound?! I'm exercising and eating what I should be. Anyone else go through periods like this? Is it normal to get cold feet?

3 years ago I was scheduled to have sleeve surgery. A couple days before I got so much anxiety that I cancelled my surgery. I was a wreck! I ended up dieting and losing 50 pounds on my own, only to gain all that weight back within a year. 3 yrs later here I am 9 days post op and I feel great. I have lost 16 pounds already. So far I am so happy that I went through this. I have had several surgeries in the past and recovery from the sleeve has been the easiest. I feel great, losing weight and not hungry. I never thought I would say that. My only regret is that I didn't have this done 3 yrs ago. Stay strong and positive! You can do this!! Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Gas pains...help!

Thanks, I did call my Dr and talked to a nurse. She said I should make sure I am sipping my fluids and try the gas X which I already am doing. I go in tomorrow for my post op appt so hopefully they can figure it out. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

    August 30 Sleevers Post Here!

Sleeved Aug 30th....1st 3 days were tough! Worst part was shoulder pain due to my drainage tube. Once the tube was pulled out the pain immediately was gone. I already went through some regret in the hospital but now that I am seeing that the scale is moving I feel more positive that this was the right decision for me. My biggest concern is that I can't stop burping. Anytime I drink or eat I have to burp, it's embarrassing! I hope this will go away. My dr only allows broth and Jello the 1st week. I bought some yogurt today and am tempted to try it but I'm just not sure. What is everyone else allowed? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    August 30 Sleevers Post Here!

I am also scheduled for Aug 30th! I am more excited than nervous! I hope that feeling stays that way til Tuesday. I am on a no carb pre op diet. Thinking tomorrow I will stick to liquids just be on the safe side. I am a little concerned because my surgeon only wants me to be on Jello and broth for the 1st week. Most people I talk to that have had the surgery seem to be on Protein drinks right after surgery. Anyone else know what they will be able to eat right after surgery? Did you ever have second thoughts?

I know how you feel. I was supposed to have surgery 3 years ago and I got so much anxiety that I backed out 2 weeks before. So many times since then I had wished that I would have just gone through with it. Last November I started this journey again and am scheduled for surgery in 4 days, Aug 30th. Of course I have anxiety but this time I am more excited and ready to start my healthier life. Talking with other people who have gone through this surgery has helped me tremendously. Any surgery is scary but just remind yourself that in the end you will be so happy you did this. Best of luck to you! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  20. I started this journey back in November when I went to an informational meeting with a friend. My insurance required 6 month nutrition visits in which I lost 18 pounds. I was scheduled for surgery in July but found out I had a cancerous tumor on my kidney so I had that removed at the end of June. Thankfully they got it early, no chemo or radiation! Now I am scheduled for Aug 30th and I am so ready to get this over with and start my new journey. I'm scared and excited, I guess that's normal. Any positive thoughts or comments appreciated. 22. I am having surgery in a few weeks and I am wondering how long it took before you could go back to work. I was told 4-6 weeks but my friend had the sleeve and said she felt good after 1 week. I don't want to have my coworkers know so I am planning on only taking 1 week vacation time. Is this unreasonable? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
