I have had my band 4 years. It is malfunctioned and must come out. I am converting to sleeve and yes you follow all the same guidelines. I didn't see why I needed to do a diet trial. Nurse practitioner agreed and has counted a visit with her as #1, went to a class last week #2. Tomorrow is #3. My final appointment is 3-22. Next step will be surgery date. I have had a band 4 years. It messed up 10 months ago and I have went back to alot of my compulsive eating. Gained 20+pounds. I have to say the band did help me. You simply cant eat alot and as soon as the weight starts coming off, you just want to keep goung because you realize how much better you feel. Dont give up on Protein Shakes. There are good ones. I bought a little cheap blender. I think Oster My Blender. To me its has to ve blended well. Thanks for the comment. Not e x a Dr however nurse for 27 years. Upper GI is proof of issues. Diet trial purpose is to show commitment to weight loss. I think the band shows that. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
