Every plan is individualized depending on the specific guidelines set by your doctor and your insurance company. Unfortunately, experiences will vary and there is not one uniform method.

I have to convert from band to sleeve. It does not make sense to me to have to do a 3 month diet trial. Does everyone have to do this??

Whether it makes sense to you or not, just follow the procedure required by your surgeon and insurance company.

What do you mean by 3 month diet trial?

You have to follow diet for 3 months to show commitment to weight loss. If I hadn't had a band for 4 years, it might make sense

Diet trial when I have a band, not much of a trial.

I had to diet for 1yr. before surgery. I was extremely obese. I lost 100lbs. in that year. I don't understand, like you if you have the band why do a diet. Maybe to show total commitment?

Congratulations!!!!!! So happy for you
