    Coffee protein drinks

In an effort to further prepare for surgery, I've become caffeine free. I make my coffee the night before, (decaff) and refrigerate it in a sealed container. In the morning I just pour it over a scoop of unflavored Isopure and add a little of my sugar free vanilla creamer. That way I don't change the integrity of the Protein powder with the heat from the coffee. It tastes pretty good and doesn't instantly make me too hot. This process will not likely be something I like after surgery because I hear that I will want something warm to drink, but it's working well now.

    Depression

I have been successfully medicated for moderate/debilitating depression for 21 years. I'm absolutely terrified of becoming depressed after surgery. My PCP is worried about it for me as well. She has prescribed a liquid version of my current medicine to take during the liquid phase. <deep breath> I pray it works well. My very best to all of you struggling with it now. May it only be very short term.

    Ricotta Bake

I'm out of the loop completely it appears. Where is this recipe? This looks amazing.
  12. Is there anyone in North Carolina having their gastric sleeve surgery done in August 2016? Side note: I'm amazed at the vast number of people from around the world having this surgery done!
  13. Do they give you a list of stuff to bring to the hospital? What should I pack? I just read a thread about needing ear plugs for the days you stay overnight. I never thought of that. Great idea.
  14. My surgeon stated "it would be a good idea" to identify myself as having had a gastric sleeve with a bracelet or necklace post surgery. Not unlike someone would wears identification that suffers from seizures, allergies, or a heart condition. Have any of you heard of that? What are your thoughts? Pros? Cons?
  15. Were there any questions during your pre-op with your surgeon that you wished you had asked now that you are on the other side? Any suggestions of what questions should I ask?
  16. Are you supposed to bring someone with you to the hospital even though it is an overnight stay? No one has filled me in on this part yet. I'm hoping my son can just drop me off and pick me up the next day. Is this reasonable? (No husband. Dumped that 190 lbs about 15 years ago.) Feels like a silly question, but I've never been hospitalized overnight except for a C-section 27 years ago and that involved half the flippin neighborhood, my mother and half the church congregation.
  17. For those who are post surgery status, do you notice that you are colder since getting closer to your goal weight? After complaining of being hot year around, even inside in the AC, my dietitian says once I lose weight I will need to carry a sweater with me. I hope this is a fact! I'm so tired of being hot! What's on your bucket list?

On my bucket list once I reach goal weight: I want to do a zip line in the NC mountains through the trees! I'm saving for a Splash Painting by Christina Grenard. And I want to hike around Crater Lake in Oregon.
  19. Tell me... what is on your bucket list now that you have reached a non-scale victory (NSV) or ultimate goal? Is there something you want to do that you've never dreamed of doing? Spill it!
  20. Thanks for the feedback. It looks as though I will be throwing a sweater in the backseat. YAHHHOOOO!!!

    Embrace the Stall

@InnerSurferGirl even though you posted it nearly a year ago, that's the best explanation of a stall I've read. I love the words you used... "dismantle a structure". I wrote it down and hung it on my bathroom mirror. You are QUITE an inspiration!!! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

  23. This restriction completely makes sense, but wow, it's going to be hard. I drink Water with every single meal. @@LipstickLady your weight loss is impressive! You are a great example of sticking to the basics of sleeve eating. Thank you for your input. It helps to know not drinking with meals can be done. (OMGosh this is gonna be a tough habit to break.)

    Ugh. No filter family! >:(

Congratulations on your weight loss! Hooray for you! Your aunt... (laughing) I think we all have one of them. I had one who once said after not seeing me for 8 years, "You're so fat I don't even recognize you". I loved her so much I couldn't believe she said that. I would tell you to "make like a duck" and let it roll off your back. I'm certain your husband is so stinkin' proud of you and nothing else matters. The lesson in her rude comment is... Make a note to yourself to never say anything like that to anyone. Move forward girl!
