tdeb got a reaction from tmbrett in Cruise booked....now what?
I had a trip planned when I got my surgery date. My surgeon said that as long as it was two weeks after surgery there was no reason not to go. (It was 3 weeks later).
Thankfully I had no issues or complications and the trip has gone well!

tdeb got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in Sometimes there are no issues!
I am three weeks post op. I have loved reading the forums. Following this site has prepared me for many things:, intolerance to Water, intolerance to certain temperature of liquids, Constipation, diarrhea, throwing up, changes in smell, changes in taste, changes in emotions...to name a few.
I am pleasantly surprised that I have. It has one single issue or complication. Again, I'm only 3 weeks out and I suppose things could change at any time. I wanted to post this so that other newbies know that things can go smoothly, as there can also be complications and changes. Not everyone has the same recovery. It's just less common (and maybe a little boring) to read posts about everything being peachy!

tdeb got a reaction from GBLady41 in Kaiser NW...I'm approved!
I am tickled that I just found out that I have been accepted into the Kaiser Oregon bariatric program. I had not heard back a week after my referral was sent...being impatient I called to confirm that that my information was received and to ask when I could except to learn the outcome. I was told that I was denied do to the lack of previous weight loss attempt. (Mind you I have been 100lbs overweight and yo yo-ing for over 10 years). The nurse explained that weight watchers, Jenny Craig and such all counted. I let her know the approximate dates that I used Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and Medifast. She stated that she would resubmit the request and approve it! I am finishing up the Mastering Weight Management requirement now, and am scheduled for orientation next month..the week after my class ends.
I was nervous as to whether I would be accepted as my BMI is borderline at 39.6, but I do have obstructive sleep apnea, knee and hip pain. I am just thrilled but only sharing the news with a few close family and friends.
