  1. Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful story! Congratulations to you for persevering and making it to where you are now!
  2. Wow! Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment!
  3. I'm not sure if I have to do these shots, but I seem to have a vague recollection that I do have to. I once did the HCG shots and, after A LOT of whining, stressing, and freaking out, I got kind of used to sticking myself. They are tiny needles, so that helped too! I hope these shots are tiny as well!
  4. Good luck to all of you! Can't wait to hear how things went/ are going! Check in when you can!
  5. Ugh. I called my insurance today. According to the customer service person I spoke with... forms were received from my doc office on 3/4... processing started 3/10.... today, 3/17... was told to try back on 3/23 to see if they've been approved yet. DANG SLOW INSURANCE COMPANY!! (thank you for covering this surgery, but come one, lets get this done!)
  6. I'm glad they got it all figured out and you're on the road to recovery!
  7. My insurance doesn't require 6 months of dieting either. I had to do 3 NUT appts, psych eval, EKG, PFG, PT class, sleep study, and full blood work. I've done all of that, and that's all been submitted... now I just wait. My doc said that with my insurance, they have 30 days to do the final approval (BCBS of TX) So I sit and wait... and wait... and wait... hahaha!
  8. Congratulations!!! I'm happy for you, and very envious that you got the call! I can't leave my phone for a minute without checking to see if they've called yet.... the wait is excruciating! So glad you are on the other side of the insurance now, and soon you'll be on your way!
  9. Definitely sending you positive thoughts and prayers! Please try to update us when you can so we don't worry too much. I'm sure the doctor's will figure out what the problem is and get you fixed right up!!
  10. I think so much depends on your insurance requirements. I had my first doc appointment on 2/4. I've completed everything required by my insurance, and the week before last they turned everything in to them... not it's a waiting game, waiting for the insurance company to send the final A-OK.... I'm living in a state of suspense! LOL
  11. I am also using Dr. Keith. I am waiting for final approval from my insurance (BCBS of TX)... I'm so anxious to get this started! Just wanted to say Hi to the rest of you that have already used Dr. Keith. Would love to hear how you are doing now!
  12. Although a pinch of sex dust and a pinch of brain dust might not be a bad thing from time to time
  13. Wow, what a great job!!! Congratulations! Stories like these just make me even more ready to get going on my surgery! I can't wait to be thin again!
  14. I understand your anxiety! My office said they submitted mine the week before last. I did break down and call the insurance company, and customer service told me they had it, but didn't have the proper coding (I've seen this on other posts). I called my doc office, and the girl that submits these all of the time just laughed and said that was a pretty standard reply from customer service. She said she'd look into it and get back to me. She did assure me that it was the 3rd page submitted, and I believe her. It stinks waiting like this, doesn't it?! We are in the same boat. Maybe we'll both get our approvals this week!
  15. Well good for you for being honest with yourself. When and if you're ready, you'll know, and then it'll work that much better for you
  16. How exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time! Hang in there, before you know it, you'll be shopping for a smaller size clothes and wondering where all the time went! LOL
  17. Dang, that was quick! 3 days. I know mine sent it over because I called and asked them, so I think I'm good there... I just wish they'd respond already! hahaha!
  18. April 7th is my birthday, it's going to be a great day for everyone, including you and your surgery! LOL I don't have a date yet, but I'm really trying to wait patiently! ha! Congratulations! The nerves are normal I think.. hang in there!
  19. So the week before last, my doctor's office submitted my final paperwork to the insurance company. I've completed everything required by the insurance and the doctors to have my surgery... Now I'm waiting, in anticipation, for the phone call telling me that I've gotten the final approval, and set up my pre-op. So how long did it take your insurance company to get back to the doctor's office with your final approval?? I've heard they have 30 days, but that it doesn't always take that long... I'm waiting so impatiently over here!!! Ack! LOL
  20. I'm still waiting for the final approval from my insurance. It was sent in two weeks ago! Ack! Hurry up already, I'm going nuts waiting! LOL As far as the magnesium citrate... expect to be sitting... a lot... about an hour after you drink it LOL Seriously, you won't have stomach cramps like some laxatives, but you will go, go, go... and then you'll go some more
  21. One of the things I heard tastes great pureed is chili. That'll also give you a change up from the chicken. Make up a batch and you can freeze it in little containers. You can puree each serving, and then when you are on to whole foods you can eat it then too. Really, stay away from the carbs. There are alternatives to Pasta if you are just craving carbs, like mashed cauliflower and those shirataki noodles that you can put some red sauce on if you need a spaghettio fix. I can give you a great mashed cauliflower recipe if you'd like it. My kids LOVE it and actually prefer it over mashed potatoes LOL
  22. I haven't had the surgery yet, but a couple of my friends have. I've heard that Chili purees up nicely and still tastes the same. I was thinking about making a batch of it and freezing it for the pureed stage. You could also puree up almost any Soup. I'm looking forward to hearing more ideas though, because I know I'll be wanting to know this soon enough!
  23. Thrift stores are great places for clothes while you lose quickly. Aside from the obvious (Goodwill, salvation army) you can Google consignment store in your city. Here in OKC, we have some great consignment places that sell used clothing at great prices. I'm looking forward to utilizing those places as soon as I get the OK from the insurance and I get this surgery! LOL
  24. Glad you made it safely and you're on the road to recovery! You are doing a great job!
  25. I too failed the sleep test. I named my Cpap Horton.... from Heron Hears a Who Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App
