Hi, I am 8 days post-op and I am still having very sharp pain in left side, right under big incision site, when I sit or lay down the pain is gone, as soon as I get up and try to do anything the pain is severe, trying to shower, do some minor things around the house is very painful, it almost takes my breath away, any one have this problem, and how long did it last, I feel so defeated.

No, can you recommend one.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, still have a lot of left side pain when I move, hard to get in protein the shakes taste horrible now, just hanging in there.

So found out I had a bleeding ulcer, lost 2 units of blood, needed a transfusion. I'm feeling much better, and bleeding is controlled.

So I had another bloody bowel movement this morning sent a picture to dr. Well they want me back to the hospital asap yeah this is not normal. Please pray for me I am very scared

I just spoke to another resident, told me to call next time and report how my bowel is, I haven't had another one since last nigh, they just don't seemed to concerned about it, it not hemorrhoids it was soft stools each time, I guess I'll have to wait and see, am I the only one that has had this happen too?

Has anyone out there had these problems #1 had surgery Friday gastric bypass, got to go home yesterday, had my first bowel movement and it was very bloody, called after hours nurse said to watch it closely had three more last night same thing lots of blood dark stools bright red water, called again she said could be nothing abnormal since I'm not experiencing any other symptoms. It's pretty scary though. #2 still in a lot of pain not very mobile, my discharge papers say I should be walking a mile everyday, huh that's not gonna happen. How long till I can get back to a reasonable life? Last thing water and food on liquid diet do I have to wait the 30 min in between? Thanks for reading and any advice.

Thank you for your very wise words, you are so right, a few moments of joy is not worth it, I will not cheat I would regret it, it might be emotions running high today, and in the past emotions meant food, not anymore. I knew asking for advice would help. Thanks again

It's my last day of pre-op diet, I am starving, I have been really good, talked myself out of cheating many times, but for some reason today the day before my surgery my cravings are insane...help!

Hi, my surgery is tomorrow March 11th, I'm so excited and scared.

No I haven't been exercising like I should, I have been very busy lately and seems like I haven't made time, I did however today! I realize I must exercise to do this right, I am very active during the day, but that's no excuse not to add some walking in. So thanks for the reminder.

Hi, I'm doing my two week pre-op diet. The first 3 days I lost 5#, starting day 9 and the scale hasn't moved. Feeling frustrated. Oh 1000 calories a day, and getting 64 ounces water everyday!

Growing up I've always been heavy , my dad was brutal to me about my weight from as far back I can remember, he said horrible things to me, yet I always tried so hard to win his approval, I am still overweight but getting my surgery on March 11th. I don't speak to my father and haven't in 22 years. It's his loss.
