  1. yes that can slow things down a bit. you could be holding Water, with the little weight gain. if you can manage to get more fluids in I think that number will change. The scale has started moving again and I have lost an additional 3 lbs! Down 37 since surgery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

    Foamy protein shakes

I had to stop blending my shakes for that reason and drink the pre-made ones. The frothiness made me nauseous and want to gag. Thanks for the advice guys! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  3. I was on a clear liquid diet while in the hospital, full liquids for a little over a weak and soft for 1 day. I was basically eating regular food by day 10 or so. I can't wait to see what some of the comments will be, but rest assured, I am a big girl (no pun intended), and I can take care of myself. I was sleeved on 2/8 and have lost 35 pounds, so I can't be doing too terribly. Everyone is different. If you can follow the diet, great. I could not. Almost everything liquidy or soft started making me nauseous and I just could not stand the consistency anymore. If I did have one piece of advice, it would be to try one thing at a time to see how you tolerate it, chew a lot, and do not eat too fast. Good luck to you. ; ) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

    Constipation

I was sleeved on 2/8. I lost 34 pounds in the first 3 weeks, and things have been going smoothly until the last week. I am severely constipated. So much so, that I have gained back 2 pounds and I cannot even pass gas very easily. I have IBS with constipation, which I have had since before surgery. I take my prescription Linzess, a stool softener if needed, I have tried drinking smooth move tea, taken the prescription gas medicine and taken gas-x strips....all still with no relief. I am desparate, has anyone else ever had this bad a bout of constipation since surgery, and what did you do? Help! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

  11. I am also 4 weeks out, almost 5. I had lost 34 pounds, but have gained back almost 2 lbs. I think it is a little too early for a plateau, but I have been working out an average of 2 days a week. I got a fitbit and have been tracking my steps. I should probably get a little more active. My calories are always around 700 and my Protein is around 50-70. I am striving for the 60-80. The one place I consistently fail is my Fluid intake. I am not sure if that could be slowing my weight loss or not. ???? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

I'm a 2/8er also and I'm on almost a regular diet. No raw veggies or nuts. Three or four bites though of dense food like chicken and I'm done. I want a salad soooooooooooo bad! I haven't and won't venture into anything like steak for another month or so. I'm on the "soft food" stage, but that's practically all I eat anyway. Sent from my 6045O using the BariatricPal App I eat just about everything. I have not tried salad yet, but I had steak for dinner tonight. I am down 28 pounds so far. No problems at all. I will probably try salads in about a week or so. No pain, but I do get full very quickly. I have only had about 600 calories today, but I am close to 40 g of Protein and about 40 oz of Fluid. I. Having a hard time getting all my protein and fluid in.

Try this kind Isopure! It dissolves in everything no thickening and I can not taste it at all! Has been a lifesaver! I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe but others have said GNC has it also. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1456371009.516378.jpg ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1456371022.681123.jpg That is the exact kind I have. I only tried it on chicken broth and it did not dissolve. I have not tried it in anything else.

Honestly I'm never hungry, I just drink because I know I should and I'm trying to create some consistency. I need to be like you and figure out how to tell if I am full. Mourning food huh? You are not alone. Today I ate a couple of potato chips KNOWING I was not hungry and should not eat it. Oh well, I chewed and chewed and it made my stomach bloat up like it was pumped with air!!! I'm not in pain, but I'm really bloated. Afterwards I started drinking Water only because of the guilt for cheating. I beat myself up today and will start over fresh tomorrow. This process is more that just having the surgery. We have to change our thinking about food. Even taking about it here online is excellent support and therapy. Together we will get through this with success!!! Whatever you want to eat, just taste a tiny bit. Your body will let you know if it still likes it or not:). Stay positive!! That is why they say this is a tool. We have to be able to break old habits. It's hard, but so worth it. The first week to week and a half were hard for me. Now I watch everything I eat and have very little cravings for food from my old life. Good luck!
