PrincessMonsterTruck got a reaction from RedCheeks in 2 weeks 3 days post op SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS and funsize 500+ at the start....
I'm 4.5 months post-SIPS surgery. Since my highest weight (which was the day that I started my pre-op diet), I've lost nearly 112 lbs. I am approximately halfway to my goal weight. I know the last 112 lbs won't come off nearly as fast as the first half did. But I'm very encouraged my progress in such a short time. I typically hit between 90-110gms of Protein each day, I limit my carbs to less than 75gms/day and I avoid any foods that have more than 10gms of sugar per serving. I get a minimum of 70oz of Water per day.
I'm 35 years old, in Raleigh NC area.
    HW: 401 (BMI 59)
    SW: 379
    CW: 289.4 BMI 42.7)
If you have any questions, hit me up. Good luck along your journey!

Hi there! I am just over two weeks postop. Recovery is going great. I've been able to tolerate everything that I've consumed (drinks & food). I had a slight complication during surgery (a leak in my small intestine), but he fixed me up in surgery and I haven't had a problem at all. Im getting around really well, too - I just get fatigued quickly. So far, so good! Good luck along your journey, and if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help. xo

Hey folks - I'm brand new to this forum. After months of research and (im)patiently waiting, my surgery is set! I'm scheduled for SIPS on March 10th 2016 in Raleigh, NC. I'll start my liver reduction diet in about a week. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my last few sips of Coke Zero, while I can. Super stoked about this new chapter and finally having the tools to work the weight loss, after an entire life of being heavy. It's all I've ever known, but I'm really looking forward to a new lifestyle. Anyway, I'll refrain from getting into some heavy-duty topics for now. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi!

    Ah........good old Bojangles.
I haven't had a Cajun fillet biscuit in six months or more. Never thought I'd be able to say that. When I hit Bo's now.....it's to get a large unsweetened ice tea or some of their roasted chicken bites.
Crazy thing is that I don't even miss what used to be a frequent staple in my diet.
Also.....former North Carolinian, here, too. GO PIRATES !!!

PrincessMonsterTruck got a reaction from judy1234 in Did anyone's spouse lose attractiveness when they got close to goal?
I am still in the pre-surgery stage of my journey, but this situation has also occurred to me. My husband is a large man. I'm a large gal, so it's been fine for us. We are attracted to each other, and share a similar lifestyle now. Although he says (and displays) that he is supportive of my WLS, I am concerned how my dramatic weight loss will affect him, and our relationship. In a perfect world, I will have a very positive experience with it, and he may consider it for himself, and then we can continue together with the new lifestyle. But, what if he doesn't? I don't want him to feel guilty for eating something that I can't have. And I don't want to feel resentful towards him.
When I first started this, I kept saying things like "OMG my whole life is going to change!" Then I thought of my husband and our life together. How hurtful that statement must have been to him. I realized that although my weight was certainly a major part of my life - but, it wasn't the whole thing. My marriage with my husband is awesome, and I don't want that to change at all. To head this off, I'm doing everything that I can do proactively communicate with him so we can squash those obstacles. But, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared....
I am sorry that I couldn't offer you much advice or solace for your situation.
I do wish you the best and hope that you can work it out. I suppose if I can offer any advice - it would be to encourage you to keep communicating with him. Show him that although you may look different... You're still the same girl that he fell in love with.

Just wanted to share a turkey meatloaf recipe I made this evening.
    Meatloaf ingredients
    1 pound lean ground turkey
    1 can rotel(w/green chiles) drained
    1 egg beaten
    1/2 cup onion
about 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
    Teaspoon of salt and pepper
    Topping for meatloaf:
    1/3 cup ketchup
    1 tablespoon mustard
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    Directions:
Mix all ingredients for meatloaf and place in a loaf pan. Mix topping ingredients and spread over meatloaf. Bake at 375 degrees for an hour!
This meatloaf is sooooo delicious and goes down so easily on my little pouch! I'll usually skip out on the ketchup topping. It tastes just as good without it!

I agree with what everyone has said.
Another thing I have noticed is that even though everyone who has WLS (or is even considering it) is overweight or obese, that may be the ONLY thing they have in common.
Obesity is a disease that affects all kinds of people. There is a wide range of people with different levels of life experience, age, education level, self awareness, common sense, socioeconomic class, and physical, emotional and intellectual capacity and capability. It takes all kinds!

Cottage cheese pancakes are awesome! A bit hard to deal with but delicious! You can pull up the recipe on Pinterest.
I think I eat cottage cheese 3 times a week for lunch. I use 1% at my nuts request. I eat it plain, with a tiny bit of fruit. I have mixed a small amount of cinnamon in it.
I have mixed taco seasoning and a little cream cheese with it, added tomatoes, lettuce. High Protein taco dip. Use different veggies for the chips.
    Whatever you like.
