    Soooooooooo...
    I think I'm getting back in the right mindset and getting over the fact that as bad as I want to, I can't have the surgery close to home.
     
    Since New Orleans is sooooo far away and Little Rock was just RUDE I decided to call the last alternative on my plan which was SWC in Dallas, TX. I wish I would have just started with them. They were VERY quick to get back with me and very nice. They are sending my info to the doc for review. Then based on that they will set me up with an appt. :sleep:
     
    We'll see how this one goes. :biggrin:

    I hate this. I feel like I'm back at square one again. I'm not even sure if the band is for me. I keep thinking have I really given traditional weight loss a chance? I know i've tried diets before and it always comes back because you fall off the wagon... but isn't that what the band is? Changing how much/what you eat? You can manipulate the band and eat most anything you want and how much you want. How do I know I'll have enough will power to stick with it after I have spent all that money. :biggrin:

    I am starting back on Atkins thursday. (I pray I have the will power.) Afterall that is how they want you to eat after you get banded. So at least I'll be used to eating that way if I do go forward with it.

    I hate this...

    I called and talked to Danielle at Dr. Merriman's office today. She said that Jill my case manager must have had her wires crossed because they have done soooo many lap-bands for people at ctel with the insurance i have. And they didn't have to go to New Orleans. They used Chupbert's in Shreveport. So i gave her Jill's info and she called her. Well about 30 min later Danielle called me back and was furious! She said that Jill didn't know WHAT she was talking about and would not even THINK of looking up Chupbert's hospital. So Danielle told her to DROP my case and she submitted it again. She just told me to PRAY i didn't get that same worker. *PRAYS!!!!!!!*
  7. Well the insurance company called me today and the doctor that I have been seeing is not going to be able to do my surgery. Instead I have to go to New Orleans which is about 6 hours from here to have my surgery. I'm just so upset about the whole deal because I liked my doctor and felt confident about him. I worry about the pre-op testing now and how far away it is. I just am all confused all over again...:thumbup:

    WoW! I had my first Dr. appt on friday Feb 8th. The doc and staff were awesome. I turned in my novel, got weighed, answered some health questions and talked with the Dr. They are hopepfully going to submit my paperwork to UHC the beginning of this week. The lady up front also told me that UHC usually has a great turn around time with getting approvals back to them. Most within 10 days!!! So once that is done, I meet with the nutritionist, have my pre op testing and get a surgery date!!! :thumbup:
     
    I feel so blessed and I pray to God I'm not jinxing myself!!!
