I am having a similar issue, although I've lost more than 25. I'm 38 and am coming up on 1 yr. I have lost 90lbs total, but 33 were prior to surgery. I've been between 208 and 214 for almost 7 months. I don't get much excersize (besides chasing a 3yr old around) and let some carbs back in but nothing crazy. So depressing

My surgeon actually suggests the patch. I used it for the first 2 months post op and my labs came in great. I take chewable centrums now. Have been told never use gummies

Im sorry. There are always peer to peers and appeals. And Tijuana was great for me, always something to consider. I used Dr Garcia and everything was beyond my expectations Dr Garcia at CER Hospital. Excellent experience

Good luck. Im 6 days post op and been pretty much feeling normal since day 3. Not as bad as you think. Just ready for some actual food rather than sweet beverages

Im going to Tijuana next week. Got denied by insurance for 5th time to do it locally. Just paid my deposit today. Finally here, been at it since december.

My journey really started 10 months ago when I attended a seminar locally and started the 6 months of classes and diet for insurance. I jumped through all the hoops for insurance and was denied. Fought for months and was denied a total of 5 times. I started reaearching mexico a few months ago as the backup plan and saw all excellent stuff about Dr Garcia so after my last appeal was denied, I scheduled with him and started my preop that day. Fast forward to today, 2 days preop. Everything went great. The drivers got me to my hotel which is beautiful then to CER Hospital for surgery. The doctors and nurses were very attentive although some nurses knew limited english. My surgery was around 2pm. I woke in recovery at 4 and didnt go upstairs until 6. That night felt pretty bad for me. Extremely uncomfortable. Pretty much just slept and walked. Day 1 post op was pretty much the same. I felt a tiny bit better but not much. Walk 10 minutes, mess around on phone for 10 minutes, sleep an hour, repeat... the idea of any liquids was still not appealing but i managed to get 1 of the 3 Gatorades they brought me down. That night was a bit better. They brought me something to relax. I took that before bed and slept a long time. Woke up around 5am energized and feeling pretty good. Got up amd showered and cleaned up room. Then was told it was time to do leak test. The stuff they make you drink for that is pretty nasty and gave me and the other girl diarrhea. Now drinking pedialyte for that. Then they took out drain which wasnt nearly as bad as i thought it would be. Was told it was horrible so i was ready for torture...not at all. I feel way better with it out. Now im back at the Marriott waiting for my room to be better. Sitting and sipping my poweraide and pedialyte. Will update more...

As others stated, it depends on insurance. I just got denied for the 2nd time even though I have a BMI of 46, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre diabetic and family histoty of every problem possible. But I have Amerigroup, who wants you to have what they consisder a disabling condition. The diet isnt necessarily a diet, its meeting withthe surgeon and a nutricianist regularly. I thought it was stupid at first too but I dont think anyone should get surgery without doing that now. It helps you prepare for life after surgery and understand what should and shouldnt be going in your body. I was very well educated in nutrician before this and still learned some stuff. Things I see people post on here that they are doing/trying to eat are crazy and show me that those individuals didnt see a nutricianist or didnt listen to anything. All insurance compnies will make you go through a lot of testing and such prior. It costs them anout 60,000 for your surgery so they want to make sure you are going to do the work required

Ive always been able to lose like 30lbs in 2 months doing Atkins. Id always gain it back after though

I am down a total of 31 lbs from when I started. I'm a little dehydrated but he said I'm on par with his other sleeve patients and to just keep trying and doing my best. I was cleared for solids and I celebrated with like...4 bites of grilled chicken and mushrooms. I am so glad I'm past that hump!

@Brenda Sherwood You were denied 5 times? That is crazy! I have called the insurance company to make sure everything is good before my consultation. I don't think I will have a problem with that but who knows with insurance companies. I hope you have save travels and your surgery goes well! I will be thinking about you!

I have definitely had a life changing experience. I'm a mom too and really struggled being active with my kids. I usually just hung out at home watch tv with them and then sent them to the park with their dad when he got home. Part of it was not having any energy and part was not wanting to be seen because I hated how I looked. I've lost 168 lbs and I feel amazing. I'm not worried about what people think anymore and I'm much more energetic. I can take them out and have fun and I have no problem keeping up. Expect great things and make great things happen!

I'm going to Dr. Garcia also next week! My surgery will be on the 20th. They told me the same diet but because I have a fatty liver I am going to do only Protein shakes for a week and Clear liquids the day before. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

Just started today. Going to Dr Garcia next week. I did it in May for 5 days before finding out I was denied by insurance and it wasnt that bad. My local doctors diet was much more strict than garcias in that it was clear liquid only and one small salad with no dressing a day. Garcia allows protien shake and some veggies/lean meat

It's been a while since I've been active on BP since I found myself pregnant at my one year surgiversary (9/8/15), But that doesn't mean I haven't been "Active" in my life!.. This year has brought so much happiness, May 25th of this year we welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world and in June moved from NJ to PA where we bought our first house. At a year out I was down 100lbs, during my pregnancy I gained 28lbs and since have lost the weight and have been maintaining my 100lb loss. Just this past week (3 months postpartum) I started back at the gym and am looking forward to getting back into the groove of things and continuing on with my WLS journey and future success.

I just started working with them, waiting for Dr Garcia to approve me and waiting for a response to my final try at getting it locally through my insurance. Been denied twice already. Ive asked the coordinator twice but she skated around my question...how far out are they booking? As in when was first available suegery date that you could have? A couple weeks? A couple months?

No experience yet to share. Just submitted my medical info to them a couple days ago. I was debating between him and Illan and ultimately chose him because I found good reviews on several sites. Seems Illan is only talked about on this site. Ive yet to find anything bad. Shooting for 2nd week of october

A Dr here in las vegas does it for 10,500. Atkinsons. Im opting for Tijuana next month, actually feels safer to me and less than half the cost

Haha Stevie.. The damn BRA! Same here.. I'm 10 weeks out and down almost 50lbs. One thing that frustrates me at the moment is clothes ! It's a good thing I know. I've already got rid of all my 26 tops and 24 bottoms. All my summer stuff in storage doesn't fit. I feel like I'm changing sizes every 2 weeks.. Seems I'm losing inches more than lbs. I'm in a 16 now and that's 10 weeks ! Holy crap. I can't wait until I hit goal and fill my closets with nice new SMALL clothing !!
