  1. How is your Water intake? I plateaued for almost 2 weeks (went up like 4 lbs even) and it coincided with it getting even hotter and more humid here. I noticed that my feet were swollen and my wedding rings weren't fitting well. I upped my water and finally dropped those four pounds and three more. Our bodies like to hold on to that water when it gets so hot, especially when we're exercising hard.
  2. I tell everybody that I had Lap Band surgery. I'm not worried about what they think, especially if it isn't someone I'm particularly close to. I have had quite a few people ask more about it, for themselves or someone they know. If I can help someone, that's even better.
  3. Congrats Melanie! You are doing so well! I also can't imagine losing large amounts of weight and not having lose skin. My stomach is ok so far, but my gyn told me that he thinks the pannus will be an issue soon. My arms and legs are bad. I've lost a LOT on my upper arms and thighs. I hope I can tighten it up, but I don't know.
  4. You look great! I can totally see the difference. I know how hard it is to see our own differences. You should be proud of yourself because you are working hard. Take more pictures, even if you are the only one who looks at them, and you'll see the changes. That's the only way I really see it, especially the subtle changes.
  5. This says a lot about the DS mindset, IMO. They don't get that people can just give up the things that are bad for them or at least limit their intake of those things. Thin doesn't equal healthy.
  6. I'm just wondering about this deal...I looked up the easy saver book online and the coupon in there says "$5 off two packages of diapers" then it says limit 2 per coupon. Will it still apply the money off to all 3 packages? I guess I'm just confused. I don't want to go buy diapers and not get the right price because I usually wouldn't buy Walgreens brand.
  7. The Jello SF pudding cups are yummy. The Snack Pack ones taste awful. That's how I got my chocolate fix for a while. Now I eat no sugar added Fudgesicles.
  8. I was having a "bad day" about once a week also. Then right around my fill, I got off track with that and I didn't go over about 1100 calories for about 2 weeks. I was REALLY bad last weekend with 3 family birthdays within 4 days, dinner out, birthday cake, barbeque...I was hoping it would break my plateau. I try not to go under 1000 calories if I can help it. Sometimes depending on my food choices, I do though. Being consistently under 1000 brings a plateau for me, plus I just feel crappy. Something has to give on this plateau. I've been craving ice cream...maybe I should have some. :smile2:
  9. 1000-1200 calories per day, 70-80 grams of Protein minimum, 64 ozs of Water per day minimum. I track what I eat with an online calorie tracker. I don't pay too much attention to carbs or fat, but try to stay under 100 g of carbs and 40 g of fat. I can do that pretty well just by watching overall calories.
  10. My 6 month goal is to reach 100 lbs lost. I'm at -81 now and at a plateau. I actually hit that last week, then jumped up about 4 lbs and have gotten back down. It got super hot and humid here last week and I was very swollen. My wedding rings had been really loose, to the point I thought they'd fall off, then suddenly they were tight. I upped my water intake and that got those 4 lbs off. I've also increased my protein, changed my food choices, and started consistently exercising. A few days last week I walked about 1 mile a day, then Monday about a mile, then yesterday and mile and a half. I'm going to aim for a mile and a half today too. My six month is until August 28th so I have 5 weeks. I don't think I'll lose 19 lbs in that time, but maybe. I keep hoping for a big drop once all the rest of this water weight leaves. I still feel a little puffy so we'll see.
  11. I loved microeconomics. And macroeconomics. I'm a nerd.
  12. *snort* I think you've got it right, Froggi. They are pissy from all their poo. Someone there mentioned a support group...omg, could you imagine how THAT smells?
  13. OMG...and they wonder why DS isn't more popular. LOL
  14. Hugs BBK. That sucks. I'd LOVE to have a week alone with my DH, I can't imagine planning it for that long and then having your plans ruined. My mother in law pulls shit like that a lot too. Mine are 7 and 5 and they've been away from us overnight THREE times in their lives, the first being this past February. I hope she changes her mind or something comes through for you. Everybody needs a break and a chance to reconnect with their spouse.
  15. That's how I feel the first couple of days after fill. Once it settles and the swelling goes down, I don't feel anything really. I just feel full quickly and for longer after a meal. I don't feel the actual band.
  16. I have PCOS, pretty bad in the last few years. I haven't had any problems losing weight and I've lost pretty fast so far. I was really worried I would have problems, so I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I've lost so far.
  17. My 6 mth is August 28th, which is 6 weeks from tomorrow (Thursday). I have 19 lbs to go. It seems like a stretch, but I tend to average around 15 lbs per month so I think I can do it. Ezma, I think you can totally lose 10 lbs in a month! You're doing awesome!
  18. I also love my band. It has been very good to me. I have not once gotten stuck, slimed, PB'ed, etc. I had my third fill last week and had a couple of tight days with the swelling, then got right back on course. I can eat a small meal and I'm fine in between. It is amazing to me how different my concept of portions and a "meal" are now. I hit 81 lbs lost over the weekend. :cool2: I am definitely at my sweet spot after last week's fill so I hope I'll keep losing at this pace. I am hoping to hit -100 around my 6 month bandiversary.
  19. OMG that was too much!!! Oh and the bedpan in the car. Geez, these people are mental.
  20. The baby wants it.
  21. Well anything that will go through a straw is ok, right? I put a whole pizza in the blender 5 days post-op. It had lots of pepperoni and sausage, I needed the protein.
  22. BBK, that dress looks great on you!
  23. We used SoftPaws on our younger cat. He's insane and my kids, my husband and I were all scratched up all the time. They are ok, not great. They are hard to put on and our evil little one would chew them off. You have to put the little sleeve thing onto EACH claw. What a pain. You (or he) would have better luck with just trimming their claws regularly. They can't do much damage when they aren't sharp. They need to be taught not to use their claws--I recommend a water bottle. Squirt them each time they try to scratch something and they'll stop. My older cat is declawed, at my mom's insistence since I lived at home when I got him. I later found out how it is done and I'm not a big fan. But if it comes down to either declawing or getting rid of them, I'd declaw.
  24. :cursing: It's a nice problem to have. A little annoying, but so much better than, "Damn, these pants won't button, they just fit a few weeks ago." Back in May, my husband and I went out to lunch for our anniversary. I put on some capris that had fit nicely not long before and when we left I realized, uh no, these are way too big now. I didn't want to go back home, so we went ahead to the restaurant. When we sat down, those suckers fell right down my butt. I had to tug them back up while sitting. I'm so glad it wasn't busy.
