  1. Wow Wantalose that does sound fast. There's a part of me that would love to have that happen and another part that thinks I want it to take a little longer. Oh, and where are you going? What doc?
  2. Hi y'all, I'm considering Dr. Kim and because of my schedule I have not been able to go to any seminar. Can you briefly tell me what is included in the aftercare and for how long? Thanks.
  3. I am going for the initial consultation. I couldn't make the scheduled seminar. I am hoping my insurance will pay, but if not I will be a self pay. It's going to happen one way or the other. Maybe we can all partner up to encourage each other through the process. Where are you all located. I'm in DFW area of Texas. Girlie, what can you share. I'm full of questions since I couldn't make the seminar. Like if they require a psych consult, what is involved in that? A few of the posts mention it and some make it sound like its something hard to do so I'm curious about that. From the first consult until you get scheduled for surgery how long does it take if you are self pay? I know if you go with insurance it can take months and months, but I really don't think my insurance covers it. Thanks, T
  4. Wish I could help you, but I think it will depend on who you go to and what kind of financing you can get. You might want to go to one of the free siminars that most of the docs offer and see what you find out. I haven't been to anything yet so I'm not really sure. I go to my first encounter next week. T
  5. I hope all goes well for you. Do you know if your insurance is going to cover? I don't know yet. When I made the appointment they told me they thought it did, but when I look at my insurance online it is blank where the bariatrics is listed, so I don't know. T.
  6. My first appointment is scheduled for February 13th. Is there anything you folks would say I should make sure about asking that you wish you had found out early on?
  7. Hi, I am considering the procedure and I have my first appointment with a Center in Hurst, TX. I'm not sure yet if my insurance will cover or not. I'm hoping they will be able to tell me for sure next week. I have UHC, but I'm getting mixed information. I'm getting pretty excited, but I'm also pretty nervous. I have a question for anyone that has used Dr. Marsden or Dr. Kim. Anything you can tell me about the process would be appreciated. After the intial info meeting, what happens? What are the usual steps? I was first looking at Dr. Marsden, but then I understand that Dr. Kim may have a better price for self pay if I have to go that route. Thanks for any help.
