  1. Thanks, you're too kind! You gotta know I cherry picked the pictures that I looked the best in! I still gotta whole lotta "back" goin' on!
  2. Aw, thanks.....I'm at 198 right now.....my "ideal" weight is 140....but I really like curves, so I'm going to play it by ear...and we'll see how it goes! It was just a perfect trip. I got to fish both the Madison and Buffalo Rivers....the Madison is the river in "A River Runs Through It"....magnificent days. We caught a few nice fishies and set them free!
  3. I've never been to the Smokys......definitely on my "someday I will" list! I'd love to see pictures when you get back.
  4. Here's a few pictures from our vacation.....it was a good time! Flickr: pbans' Photostream
  5. Back from vacation and lots to catch up on! It was a great trip and I really didn't do bad at all! Had a couple of cocktails two nights....picked at a few things I shouldn't have, but overall, I would rate it a success! Did a lot of walking and was surprised at how much better I felt than last year! Did a bajillion stairs getting to Mesa Falls and was barely winded.....amazing how dropping some weight will help the lungs! Lots to catch up on, I'm off to read some posts!
  6. When I went to the dietian last month she was actually talking about putting something like that together!
  7. Nope, don't want to loose my onderland status...... and YES, I am a self-pay.....I make my "gut" payment every month....so I do have a great deal of motivation to do this right. I had a long talk with my BF who is going on the trip with me......she assured me that we'll walk/hike every day and that she'll give me subtle reminders if I'm out of control.....and I did give her a green light to be not so subtle if necessary! Thank you for the so gentle bitch slaps......hardly hurt at all, just enough to pop me back in to reality..... and yes, I am having visions of Cher in "Moonstruck"....... "SNAP OUT OF IT"
  8. I like this A LOT, I think I just found my plan!!! That's what I love about this group....support and brainstorming! PERFECT!
  9. I love it there. I don't know how much time we'll actually spend in the park, but there's so much to do in the area. We rent a lodge up there every year......same group of friends, it's just a great trip! Here's where we are staying: Huckleberry Lodge Island Park Idaho Yellowstone National Park We do all of the cooking in, but of course, planning meals for a large group...it's not always...okay RARELY....lowfat/band-friendly.....but I can work around it. My biggest concern is drinking.....we're a pretty party hardy bunch.....daytime is no big deal, but evenings will be tough, I think!
  10. I seriously laid awake last night trying to put this together and figure out why....and as much as I'd like to report that I had a Dr. Phil moment of clarity.....I didn't......BUT I did end it....right now, right here...back on track. I can't , won't, will not go back to THAT place of self-hatred and embarassment.....I will only go forward to THIS place of good health, lower BMI and a tighter ass! Vacation will be a challenge. I'm planning for it....buying a lot of my own food, bringing a journal, packing my hiking shoes....we're going to West Yellowstone/Island Park....so no more beautiful place for exercise. I don't have the restriction I wish I did, but I DO have the restriction that I have and I will work with that. I stepped on the scale this morning and was up a pound.....so that's it...I'm done. Anyway....I'm leaving Friday for a week, but will be around until then!
  11. LYNN.....WTG on lowering your meds! That is HUGE..... I'm so happy for you!
  12. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.....please...someone bitch slap me...poke me....make fun of me....whatever....but the last two days have been horrible. Not like "old times" horrible......but several pieces of salt Water taffy, three or four bites of cake, no food logging.....ARGH..... Why do I do this to myself? I'm leaving on vacation Friday....I've GOT to get myself back in the saddle if I'm going to survive a weeks vacation..... so let the bitch slapping begin......
  13. It gets better.....once the weight starts coming off and you really get moving, the pain and discomfort become a distant memory, I promise! I feel better right now that I have in the last ten years!
  14. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr......I just called to try and get in for an adjustment before I go on vacation.....but my doc is out of town and won't return until the day I leave on vacation.....I was so hoping to get in before we leave. I'm worried about this trip.....we spend a week in a lodge in West Yellowstone with a wonderful group of friends....good times, but the evenings generally consist of eating and drinking.....I'm very worried about it.................................................sigh
  15. Celebrating the descent down the obesity ladder with you, Fenton!! HOORAY!!
  16. Spring? Not sure what that is...... It was 42 effing degrees today! Supposed to warm up significantly this weekend though.....sure hope so.
  17. :little tear: I'm wearing my wedding ring for the first time in about six years...... makes me very happy!
  18. My hair is thinning a bit....and it's horribly, horribly dry. I usually like some blonde highlights in my hair for summer, but I'm avoiding bleach for a while.....I will still color it....refuse to play the gray that nature dealt me! My hairdresser warned me it would likely happen with rapid weight loss.....makes me sad, no matter how I've felt about the rest of my bod, I've always loved my hair.....BUT this too shall pass!
  19. GENTLE....no need for that, you look fantastic!! Wow......just FANTASTIC!
  20. Christine, Your story gave me a big smile....and a great reminder about why we're doing this.....it's not all about the smaller sizes and nicer booties.....it's about what's INSIDE and the confidence that our accomplishments are giving us! YOU ROCK (and roll....hee hee)
  21. Congrats Lisa!! You've earned that happy dance! WTG!!!
  22. Actually, there are more than a few Americans that would agree with you! Very inspiring story......
  23. I don't think it's fair to compare ourselves to others...... everyone's body is going to be different, everyone has a different setpoint for their metabolism. The IMPORTANT thing is that the numbers are going down, the waists are getting smaller and most importantly, we're feeling better! STOP looking at everyone's ticker and comparing it to your own.....just celebrate that we're on this journey together and it's working!
  24. She sounds like she's in great hands! One of the things that my husband wasn't expecting was my mood swings....even worse than normal.... I think a lot of it was from the anesthetic and maybe my hormones being whacked out, but a lot of it was just plain mourning my friend food......I'm fine now, but the first month was a roller coaster ride! Good luck to the both of you!
  25. I got a new swimming suit today.....and I don't hate it. I don't LOVE it, but I don't hate it and that's a HUGE victory for me! I haven't bought a swimming suit for at least five years....the last one I bought, I grabbed off the rack at Walmart just to have something to wear in the hot tub.....
