  1. "I'll be FINE in 0-NINE"
  2. I had one of those "moments" this morning......it's particularly chilly this morning so I decided on oatmeal instead of my usual yogurt for breakfast. I fixed the package of weight control oatmeal and when I took the bowl out of the microwave, my first thought was, "THAT'S A LOT OF FOOD". Funny, pre-band, I would mix two packages up and eat it all......still sitting here looking at the other half of the oatmeal trying to decide which dog to give it to! I love my band........most days!
  3. In a couple of situations when people have commented that I don't eat very much......I've just said, "I have a small stomach".....it's true....and it usually just leaves them sort of confused and they drop it.
  4. Good for you, Lynn! I think we need to say it ourselves....and recognize that we do look good! I think it's part of shedding the "fat person brain"!
  5. CHRISTINE!!!! WOOHOO to smaller sizes! I notice that too...sometimes when the scale stops moving, the body keeps going for a little bit! Personally, I don't care as much about the number on the scale as I do the number on the tag!
  6. Sounes like it's time for a trip to Victoria's Secret for some new, pretty panties!
  7. First of all, whatever happens in the OR...you will be totally unaware of. It's just business as usual for anyone in there....so check that off of things to worry about! Yes, there are people who haven't lost weight, people who have had complications, people who don't like their bands.........BUT ....there are people like me, who have lost weight, still eat "normal" foods (including favorites), feel fantastic, look great and love their bands.....the nice thing is that it has changed my relationship with food.....I was able to go to a wonderful Christmas party last night and focus on socializing with friends, dancing, and frankly....looking pretty hot....instead of focusing on the buffet line! If you've done your research, just focus on the original reasons you decided to be banded..... Breathe in, breathe out!
  8. Survived the first Christmas party of the year! It was nice, because there were really excellent food choices available....turkey, steamed veggies, salad....passed on the garlic mashed potatoes, although they looked and smelled soooo good. Potatoes fill me up too fast! Had two glasses of wine, but much better than the copious amounts of jack daniels/coke that I had last year! It was wonderful to wake up with a clear head this morning! The dress was a hit......I did feel a little over-dressed for a harley Christmas party....but dammit, I was going to wear that dress somewhere!!!!! Planning on putting the tree up today....finishing decorating....maybe even a little shopping! Have a great Sunday!
  9. SCRAPPY! Wow, wow, wow!!!! MOST impressive, you look fabulous.....and twenty years younger! If your age wasn't shown, I'd swear you were a college student! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
  10. CONGRATULATIONS, SUGAR!!! I'm looking forward to being "just overweight" as well!! SOOOOOON.....I hope!
  11. An amazing thing happened here yesterday..... I threw away half of a pumpkin pie! Yep, apparently the half of pie I usually eat after the holiday....my family had had their fill and was just done with pumpkin pie for a while.....so out it went! I can honestly say, I've never done that before!!!!!
  12. I literally started DURING surgery......go figure! Like everyone else, it wasn't a big deal.....first time in a long time that I didn't notice the cramps!
  13. HUGE NSV for me today! I had the energy to climb up and down the ladder 10,000 times to hang Christmas lights outside!!!!! My house looks so festive for the first time in YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Tried to find you, but I must be search retarded..... I'm the first Paige Ansley that comes up....so hit me up!
  15. I did pretty well, too!~! Had a few more crackers and cheese than I should have, but overall....I would call it a success. I haven't felt good today....and I had to work....so no temptation with leftovers. Just fixed a plate with turkey and some gravy....that did me fine! My weight was down this morning, too....WEIRD!
  16. Happy Thanksgiving All! Finished baking pies about 11 last night.....had a great night, my daughter helped me and we had a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit while they were in the oven! Woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat....maybe it will make it easier to resist the temptations...it hurt to even swallow tea! I have to fight it off, working god awful BLACK FRIDAY tomorrow! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
  17. I think frequent check ins are a good idea! I'm starting the cooking frenzy tonight.....UGH.....
  18. I got the dress at coldwater creek online....the really great thing is that with discounts and codes....IT COST $6.38!!! You'll be in a size 12, Niki.....it's not that far off if you're in an 18 now.....ten to fifteen pounds a size (or so they say)...I'll bet you do look fantastic, 78 pounds off....that's a LOT of weight!
  19. My latest NSV (which is all I've had lately as the scale is horribly STUCK).... I bought this dress last February in a size 12.....called it my "inspiration dress"...... WELL....guess what I'll be wearing to a Christmas party on December 6th!!!!!!!!!
  20. I was self pay.....the only difference for me was that I didn't have to do the six month medically supervised diet. I still had to go to my primary care doc for a physical and get a letter of medical necessity. I went through all of the pre-surgery programs.....nutritionist, exercise physiologist, psycologist. It was a pretty stream-lined process. I started on February 7th and had my surgery on March 18th.
  21. The website says they are 4 x 4 x 10....... I bought an off-brand, much cheaper version at Penney's and it's worked great. They come with a bunch of crap you don't need....but such is life. I use the base and one glass....that's it....so it wouldn't take up a ton of room. Maybe you could have it shipped to you over there? It's all I've ever used to make my drinks.... I do envy you spending time in Paris...... I spent a week there in 2000 and it wasn't long enough! We walked so much that I don't remember gaining any weight in spite of the incredible food....and wine, of course!
  22. What about a magic bullet, Fenton? They are small enough to pack and I know they whip up a mean protein shake!
  23. Let's talk about Thanksgiving? What are you doing? What are your 'eating strategies'? I love Thanksgiving so much......
  24. I had a vicious PB incident with bread......I just think about that and ANYTHING even remotely bread-like is very unattractive.....
  25. (((((TESS))))) My dh does things sort of like that, too.......and then says, "I forgot you can't eat that..." SERIOUSLY.....You FORGOT? My dh CAN stand to loose about fifty pounds. He's got a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I hope she gives him hell and tells him that..... It's so frustrating, I feel your pain! I had to pick up the donuts for work on Saturday. FIVE DOZEN HOT DONUTS in my car.....smelled like a little bit of heaven. I didn't have one, though!
