Funny you mention that....I wear Vans Classics most of the time (80's girl, what can I say?)....I've always worn a 9.....had to buy a 8.5 last night, the I'm slopping out of the nines.....now I feel kind of bad, I didn't realize my feet were fat......JK.....anything smaller is GOOD!

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
While I haven't questioned my decision to get the band, I can certainly understand the standpoint of those who do. It is a huge change....physically and mentally. For me, the fact that I just feel so much better balances out the inconveniences of my band. I'm pushing 50, so I really had come to terms with the fact that I couldn't "do it by myself".....although, really I am doing it by myself. I could still be eating ice cream, milk shakes and hershey bars....but I have chosen not to. Indeed, the band makes it easier....but I'm still making the final choice. I hope you are all able to make peace with your band and your decision. For the record, I do have decent restriction.....I've had a couple of PBs but both times I know what I did wrong....the band didn't cause the problem, I did.....

Tattoos
This is the tattoo that I got a couple of months after my surgery. It's all about direction.....choosing the right one and then staying the course.

Oh Lynn, I hear you! My decision making skills are dramatically effected by being too hungry! I love breakfast.....I really look forward to my quiet mornings with my paper and some breakfast!

It feels good, doesn't it? I do think the reward ratio for resisting/avoiding treats like that should be higher....somehow, I always feel like I should lose because I was particularly good!

That really makes sense.....esp for some of us that are a little longer in years, it's really been a long journey to get to the mess we're in.....going uphill is always harder than going downhill, so it's going to be a time consuming and sometimes tedious process to get back to good health and good habits. I have made some huge changes that I feel confident are here to stay....after five months, I no longer eye the candy bars at the checkout line and lust for one....I really don't even notice they are there now, but at first I had to consciously avoid looking at them lest I get caught in their lustful chocolate tracter beams..... I don't think about making a Peanut Butter sandwich when I just want something to eat.....I usually grab a glass of ice Water or a crystal light when I 'just want something'. I don't even think about bread anymore...I am constantly amazed at how long a loaf of bread last in the house now...guess it really was me all of these years......had to apologize to a few folks for that one! It's a process....yes, peeling that one wire at a time!

Fenton, it makes sense to me that you want to lose the first 100 without a fill....sort of a personal goal and proof to yourself that it is possible! Good for you! When you're ready for an adjustment, you'll know it! I'm quite happy right now with my restriction......I did have another 'incident' yesterday with a PB....I truly thought I was doing everything right this time, but it happened anyway....so taking it pretty easy today. 99% of the time, I feel like I'm in a very good spot, though. My numbers have gone down a little in the last week, so that's good! Always encouraging to see a new *lower* number on the read-out! We've just had a super busy summer....been camping a lot, spending time out on the ATVs......and of course, on the harleys in between!

Sending you good knee vibes!! It's miserable, that's for sure! Getting older is NOT for sissies!

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
I feel pretty good restriction most of the time......I asked my doctor NOT to tell me anymore how much is in my band. I think it's a psychological thing for me, I kept thinking it couldn't work because it didn't have enough in it.......I over think things......so now I'm just going on feeling instead of how much. It's working for me! Been having a lot of knee problems lately.......how weird is that? Lose some weight and my knee STARTS hurting. I'm going for some physical therapy starting next week, hopefully, that will help.

Does anyone else's weight flex between 4 & 5 lbs a day
Yes, my weight varies by as much as 5 pounds from day to day....that's why I don't put too much stock in the scale. I'll look at an average over a week or two and then I get a feel for what I've lost................or not.

glued incisions
It seemed like it took a long time for the glue to come off of mine....but I left it alone and let it come off on it's own. No sense messing with it..... Now, it's a distant memory....be patient, it will come off!

((((Lisa)))) that IS the beauty of it, though...... Tomorrow is a new day....tonight is a new night! shake it off and move on....that's all we can do. I remember so many times that I'd just say, "F#ck it, I've already blown it.....might as well have ice cream, too".....but those days have to be over....now it's a clean slate! Confession is good for the soul...... make it good for the hips and thighs as well!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! We ventured out to see "The Dark Knight".....WOW....if you like action movies, go see it. Heath Ledger's Joker was nothing short of brilliant. I LOVED the movie! Shopping a bit today.....had to buy a new bra....little too much room in my old ones.....which is just FINE with me! Of course, I accidentally bought a couple new pairs of shoes too.....had no intention of buying shoes....but what ya gonna do when you see cute ones on clearance! I did go out to Breakfast with a friend today that I hadn't seen for over a year....that was fun. He actually picked me up when he hugged me....been a long time since anyone has done that. He knew I'd had the surgery and was delighted to see the weightloss. He did comment several times during breakfast...."No one can live on that much food." I just ate a few of bites of scrambled eggs, a couple bites of hashbrowns and just enough bite of a scone to get the taste.......I'm very happy with my level of restriction! It was nice!

I use unjury, but I've always mixed it with soy milk. I have a friend that just mixed it with water and said it was okay, though....
