I'm a man & Ive lost 71 lbs. I know there's a lot of men in this forum.

My wife was banded12/08 & can't exercise due to her back & knee condition & has lost 65lbs. I've lost 71 lbs but I've had to exercise for every lbs of it.

Are you on mushies yet? I was very nausiated the first 10 days post surgery but felt much better after I started mushies.

Pudgy, Your doctor should be able to provide you with a good food list.

I had the same problem the 1st week after my surgery but it stopped when I started on food. Just hang in there.

Well the band isn't a cure-all but the sacrifices are definatly worth the rewards. I'm a slow loser with 65 lbs. lost since April of 08, but my wife has lost 61 lbs since Dec, 08. So everyone is different. We are both happy with our results so far with the surgery and we've both been taken off most of our meds. Would we do it again? Absolutly.

My wife was banded in Dec. 08 & just had her 1st fill a week ago. She got 1.5 cc & the only thing she has been able to keep down is creamed soups & salads. Has anyone experienced this? I'm also banded but I don't have any advice for her for I've never had that kind of restriction.

Kimbi, Where were u banded? I was banded at DePaul hosp. & my wife was banded at Des Peres.

I had the same thing. It was from the glue from the bandages. My doc removed them & the staples after 7 days & I put cortisone cream on it & it cleared up in about 5 days.

I own a home gym weight training set, an elipticle, an ab lounger, & a dumbell set and between the 4 I can get a good full body workout. I try to do 4-6 days a week.

Jamie, All I can tell you is I've had 7 fills & have very little restriction with my realize band & continuing to get fills. My wife had the lapband & has had restriction from day one & not even scheduled for a fill yet. If I had a choice I'd go for the lapband.

Banded on April 23rd 08 , down 58 lbs. Also PCP has takin me off my diabetis & hbp meds.

I knew dumping syndrom was cammon in gastric bypass patients but is it possible with band patients as well. I ate a lot of sweets over the holidays & the last 5 days I've had severe diarea & flu like symtoms. First I thought it was the flu but it's dragging out too long plus I had a flu shot. Has anyone experiencd this?

My wife was released from hospital yesturday & she's been dry heiving all day today. I can't get her to eat anything for fear she'll throw up. I didn't have this problem with my surgery so I don't know what to do . Has anyone experieced this? Any advise will help.

Greetings, Does anyone know the average cc. content to reach full restriction of the 9cc Realize band? I've had 5 fills totaling 4cc & I don't feel hardly any restriction at all. My Doc.will only give me .5cc per fill at this point.

I was banded at age 57.

51 lbs. For me since surgery date.

Congrads Danigirl, getting under 300lbs was a big step for me also, especially since this time we're never going to see that big "3" on the scale again. Good luck in your journey, John

I was banded on April 23rd, 08 & I've had 3 fills with a total of 3cc. Apparently my Doc. is pretty conservative but I've lost 50 lbs. so far so I guess I won't complain. Good luck to you all
