  1. I do all of the above -- I got used to not drinking with meals and then I started the habit again-- WHY--- I eat what I want only so much less that I think it is okay - I drink too many fluids- I am on dialysis and should only have 50 ounces of fluids a day but I drink more than that---- I love tea and water----
  2. I got hungry after the surgery and I have read here that I am not alone--- I can eat whatever as long as I chew and chew and chew--- I was baned on 12/9 and had reg foods on 12/24 --- I was glad because it was Christmas Eve -- every doctor is different -- or was I banded on 12/7 -- I get it mixed up
  3. Caterine 55 is right on the money---- go to her doctor-- at least you can talk to someone who has used him-- where will you go for follow up visits and if you have a problem spend the money --- in the long run, you will be glad
  4. the only thing I have had to give up that I like is carbonation --- and I have gotten used to it --- I have also gotten used to not drinking during eating --- I can eat anything just lots less --- chew chew chew -- I have not had a sub yet but I would eat some of the bread ---- chew chew chew
  5. my doc and nurse told us that we will get drunk a lot faster - reason - stomach is little -- he said to have a glass of wine or one drink without mixing it with coke or anything carbonated -- the only problem I see is that you were banded 2/2 -- clear liquids -- would wine qualify? I would call the office and ask
  6. I think if you want to post just to post ---- DO IT that is what this website is for
  7. looking to see if I am the fattest person in the room or the next fattest or the next, next fattest and counting people passing by that I think should get a band including me I was always the first person I counted
  8. prayers and thoughts to you- I remember my on line friends who helped me during IKE- God Bless and keep you safe
  9. I am praying for you and your family as the tears come down. God Bless You I am so sorry.
  10. my doctor fills every two weeks- weight loss or not- I think it is too much --- I get too hungry on the days I have to have liquids
  11. if my children were still young it would be so much harder to do this lap band - I cheated some and did fine during surgery - you will be able to eat a cheeseburger but it may be the dollar cheeseburger at Sonic - it is not like a kid's meal burger - it is just like the reg burger only way smaller and it is all you can eat - I get the dollar fries also and only eat about 7 of them- and I am full - I eat about 2/3's of the burger but it feels like I ate the real thing - this is the best thing I have done
  12. hot tea helps in the mornings - Campbell's makes soup in boxes and the squash is mushy- refried beans are wonderful - mashed potatoes are good - the mushy stage has lots to offer
  13. your eating habits will change as your husband eats less-- the band is not easy -- I miss the food-- but I love eating so much less -- exercise with your husband and keep thinking maybe you will lose and not have to have the band I am glad I got it but wish I could have done more on my own
  14. I was told to call if I have to vomit and they might do an unfill on me until I am better
  15. you should tell your surgeon - I know he has heard it before and he will understand I wanted to rip the band out at first but now I am so glad I have it I eat so much less it is amazing - but I do miss eating the foods -- they were a comfort I do not think that will ever change - but remember it is hard at first and you will adapt- you will be so happy walking down the aisle at a thinner weight this is not easy at all but you can do it - chewing very slowly is the key and do not drink when you eat -- which I still do sometimes but I do not drink much how does your soon to be husband feel about your decision I think the best thing is that I will not gain any weight back that I lose you know how the yo-yo dieting is-
  16. eat your pizza now but follow the doc's pre op directions - you can still eat pizza but I got over the urge to "pig out" - I also got over the urge to drink as I eat -- I just got used to it- at first, I wanted to rip this band out but as time goes on it becomes easier - I am going to Ci-Ci's with my family in a few hours and will eat some salad and the tops off a couple of pieces of pizza and I will be fine with that- it is amazing how much more money you will have in your bank account and I always take home a "to go" container - I guess I need to learn how to oder less - right now I am too sky to show them my card about the surgery so I can order from the child's menu ---- and my family and pets enjoy left overs from eating out:blushing:
  17. I can eat anything now just lots less of it - I do not like the fill days - 2 days clear liquids - 2 days liquids - one mushy day and then regular--- I can get a fill every two weeks --- so far, I have had two fills I was eating regular foods less than 2 weeks after surgery -- well on exactly the 15 th day I was on reg foods-- and I was following the doctor's orders
  18. salads are not a problem for me use spinach I was told the darker greens are easier for us to eat - so enjoy -
  19. I was banded in dec and the weight is coming off slowly but my nsv was that at the end of the first month I had 400.00 extra dollars in my account for not spending it on fast foods and taking my family out to eat where I paid for it---- I am happy--- my family --- not so much -- ha ha ha
  20. I had a grilled cheese sand for breakfast this morning- ate all of it but some of the crust- it was fine and did not come back up --- I have been banded since 12/9 and if I would have eaten a sand earlier than now I am not sure it would have gone down -- I eat the string cheese as a snack -- cheese is not the problem in a sand - for most people it is the bread -- toast the bread - of course on a grilled cheese
  21. I cheated very little with healthy and unhealthy foods - mainly I did not drink all the protein drinks I should have - I just got sick of the taste - my cheating choice is not on the poll --
  22. I wish I would have had one more coke or some sort of soda -- maybe a rootbeer but I do take an occasional sip of a soda -- just to remember and it is not to bad to not have sodas I have gotten used to not drinking much during eating- I will take a sip now and then- maybe I would have gone to one more buffett- no reason to go now
  23. what a cute comparison can not wait to tell my doctor he will get a good laugh you get on the table and "fill her up"
  24. OMG ( gosh ) you get your band and you show your husband -- it is not easy - but you can do it- the first week I wanted to tear the band out -- ha ha - glad I did not do it -- you get used to not drinking while eating--- takes a few weeks but you will adjust -- the best thing, to me, about the band is that I feel like I will not regain the weight I slowly lose -- you know you lose 10 and feel good and then gain it back - plus a few lbs - I have to repeat this is not easy but I love it - I still need to get used to not ordering too much food - I bring a lot home in boxes and either eat it at another time or treat my cat and dog --- my children are not home anymore and my husband usually does not like what I order -- YOU CAN DO IT
  25. Smartiegirl you are right - she does look preg and that should not court as weight for her to lose now - I did not know she was getting a divorce - hope they do not use her weight as a divorce issue -- she is a very pretty lady and never dresses tacky before now--- Kristie Allen was not a happy Craig girl --- please do not try and trick us by wearing too big for you outfits ---- we may need to lose weight in our bodies but are brains are just fine---
