  1. Depends... Some go because of the money, others to seek out a particular doc...some both. Nuff said.
  2. P'nut... everyone is here to support ya. My new stats... Start: 371 Current: 217 Lost this past week: -7 Down total: 155 Goal: 189 I"M IN THE TEENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Actually, I keep dreaming I am a detective in some old Film Noir movie... dressed like Humphrey Bogart, and narrating everything to myself. If it's my dream, why do I need the narration? "After telling the Lap band folks about my dream, I typed more information in a database at work It was a boring database, the type of database that gives most people nightmares, but keeps the business running. I decided to stop typing and moved onto the personnel reports. Ahh, the personnel reports. How I remember working on them back in the day... that was before they became mandatory and I had to have them on the bosses desk every monday... yeah I remember those days. Despite all that... something kept drawing me back to LBT. Was it something sinister? Was it something exciting? Maybe it was some dame that I couldn't get out of my mind... a dame who was exciting and banded, like all dames should be... maybe I should stop narrating all this and gwet back to my two-bit job, that just covered the bills..."
  4. Not at all meant to be harder, but if the appetite supressants worked as well as listed, without side affects, then why get the surgery at all? I went for the band as a method to control my quantities, but it does require that I learn to control myself, and relying on drugs for that takes away from my reeducation on how to eat. I want to learn how to be healthy, and how to use my new tool, without the reliance on drugs or supressants. I have no ill will towards folks using them with or without a band, I was just stating how I felt about it for me personally.
  5. No way. I just traded my TRS 80 for this one. Man, what an upgrade!
  6. Hey... My Commodore has a 10" green monitor... it works great. The only problem I have is loading programs from cassette tape.
  7. Hey... me too... oops. TMI.:faint: heh heh heh just kidding! or am I?!?!?!:heh:
  8. mmmmm... Ice cold lemonade... yummy Throw in a little vodka, and some crushed ice, will ya?
  9. No. In my opinion, that is why I got the band, to get away from that sort of thing. If your doc prescribes it, I am sure he has his reasons, but it was my experience that the post op period is for healing NOT weight loss, so the appetite supressant wouldn't make sense during that phase. For the pre-op diet, maybe it would make more sense. Again, if it is a part of YOUR doc's program, then if you trust him you should follow his rules. Personally, I hate chemicals (except caffeine, from my AM coffee, and the occasional beverage... of the alcoholic variety), so I don't want them in my system. besides I had bad experiences with them making me jumpy and all. Talk to your doc about it, and discuss your thoughts on the matter, and then folow his rules to get the most out of your band.
  10. I've been coming to this site on my Commodore 64... is that wrong? Geez, I've gonna leave and go play my Atari pong game on my b&w TV. Show offs.
  11. Yeah, I've got some. I'd be happy to provide... Wait a minute, this isn't a request line, is it? oops. Seriously, same thing here, would love to get rid of the excess in my stomach, but the $$$ is too much.
  12. Tried that, but the pointy boobs ripped through my polo shirt.
  13. Need... more... cheese... recipies... Sure, I go off for a few hours, and everyone starts having fun. Did you all leave me out on purpose?:cry The only one who likes me is the cheese. Anyone had Fontinella cheese? Stinks like old dirty feet, but is delicious! BTW, it only took 190 posts on this thread before the conversations turned to poo. I really thought we'd start talking about poo a lot earlier.
  14. Oh yeah, well mine cost... One MILLION DOLLARS! (Paul puts his pinky in the corner of his mouth)
  15. Hic... Sorry, was testing the whiskey for dawg... hic Wazzat?
  16. We don't have to spend a lot of time at the restaurant deciding. We just look at the menu and say, YES.
  17. Dawg, did ya try the whiskey? A little whiskey, and who the hell needs pain meds... hic... hic
  18. Hey, I know food. Of course, that's why I weighed 371 lbs. heh heh heh
  19. Dawg... There are 4 flying monkey's outside my office window. You don't know anything about that, do you?!?!?!
  20. I don't like avocado, sorry. But, how about Italian nachos? Tortilla chip covered with Monterrey jack cheese, with a slice of pepperoni and a Jalapeno slice... put under the broiler until the pepperoni gets that crispy edge!
  21. Thanks. That is a good thread. As for my update... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... relief!
  22. Mmmmmm... Cheese....
