Wow, this doesn't get much action, lol. Ok, I am also new to the site and live on Ft. WW here in Alaska. I just got referred to Dr. Searles and am nervous as I don't know much about him. I was reading up in Dr. Todd and know of some people done by him so was surprised that is wasn't him. I am ok with it, just surprised. Been trying to find out how he is and what his process is. My appt is Oct. 20 for consult. I am nervous and excited.

already had surgery. I went to my PCM and she referred me to a doctor in Mobile, AL. I call them and they said I had to have a orientation before I can even see the doctor. So I made that for this Wednesay. My question is, the referral I got is that for the surgery too or just to see the doctor doing the Lapband? The reason I am asking is according to his website, I will need to have a evalution by the nutritionist, psycoligist (sp) and may even need a 5 yr evaluation on showing that I have been trying to loose weight. I thought me going to the PCM and getting a referral for the Lapband was all I was going to need. Can someone answer these questions that have already done this. Thanks so much, Angela

My PCM just put in my referral. She said I should here something within 10 days. Should I try and schedule anything myself? Is there anyone who got approved and didn't have to do all the other stuff? Plus how are you finding your doctors? I am in Ft. Rucker, AL and even my PCM said she didn't know where I could get this done at. Plus we are moving in May to Fairbanks,AK (Ft. Wainwright) I wonder if I should wait or if I could get this all done and banded before May? It figures they start paying and now we get a letter to move. He leaves for desert not too long afterwards, so I will be alone with 5 kids, not sure if I should wait or go on. Any thoughts? Thanks, Angela

Hi all. I just went to my PCM yesterday and she is putting in for LB referral. She said I should hear something in a few days. I am Prime and South. I seen in the waiting room this sign that said something about This Center is a Center of Excellence, but I didn't pay any attention other than that. I guess maybe I should have.
