ad5707 got a reaction from HapyTrls in 2 weeks out and only lost 10 pounds
So I had my surgery the 25th and I've only lost about 10 pounds. I've been 10 pounds lighter for quite a few days. I've hit a stall pretty early on and haven't lost much, is this normal?
    Day of surgery weight: 240

ad5707 reacted to AvaFern in Relying on feeling full or amount you can eat versus portions
I am 29 months post-op as of next week and I don't portion food in the sense that I don't measure it out. I know that for Breakfast I make a bowl of instant oatmeal, mix in some honey, and pour in some granola...I then eat 1/3 to 1/2 of the bowl and I set it down when I get to that point because I know if I keep eating I'm going to feel miserable. I really like the Protein blends healthy steamers, and I know that I can eat half a bag (which is actually a lot for someone with a sleeve) without feeling sick, so I dump half the bag in the bowl and leave the rest in the fridge for later. If I eat Chick-Fil-A which is really the only fast food or non-homemade food that I eat, I only put half a sandwich on my plate, or 5 nuggets, so that when I'm done eating that I know that I'm done, even if it takes me 15 minutes or so to realize that I'm not hungry anymore. I learned how to eat according to portions based on how much different food and sizes made me sick, so while I don't formally mete out specific amounts of food, trial and error and almost 2.5 years after surgery has given me an understanding of visually what I can eat without feeling full or sick.

I called my doctor and she said it is very normal to be like this for the next 2 weeks especially for the teens. Just gotta get through this next week and should be good!!

Thank you for your response! And sorry if this is a weird question but do you feel comfortable in a bikini now? Like is lt not even a second thought for you. I would like to be able to wear once this summer at best but might have to wait until next year depending on my rate of loss and my loose skin. But very hopeful about that thanks to you guys

Hi I'm 16 year old girl who got the sleeve Jan/25/16. My original date was Dec. 21 but due to insurance issues was postponed another month. Post surgery It was quite the experience with the bad reaction to morphine and the 2 days of straight dry heaving but I have already lost a good amount of weight. It was all definitely well worth it!
    Highest weight:254
    Before surgery:246
    Now:232
    Height 5'6"
Also do any of you think I'll have loose skin based of my age weight and height?

If you drink 60oz of Water or over every day until the day before and eat a very very Minimal low sodium diet you may even lose more. You may feel awful at first with hunger pains but in my desperate times before appointments I would do this. You lose all water weight. It's what wrestlers and bodybuilders do before big matches so they can go down a weight category and be the biggest one. Also sweating it out may help
