Hi there, Maybe some of you long time lap bandsters can help me out. I'm about to have my bandaversery next month and am very happy with my progress, even though it has been slow I keep moving in the right direction. I had gotten to the point where I though I should probably go in for another fill. Just starting to be able to eat more, especially in the evenings when the snack monster strikes. All of a sudden, it feels like I did get another fill, quite a tight one, and food is getting stuck more often then it did before. Nothing has changed as far as my diet or exercise, everything just feels tighter. Has this happened to anyone before? I'm not complaining, it feels like I got a fill and it didn't cost me anything:thumbup: but was a little concerned that something might have slipped to cause this feeling after almost a year. Hi, Just wanted to say I was 58 when I was banded in Mexico and I only wish I had done it sooner. Everything has gone well and I am so happy with my surgeon and the follow up care I have had in MI. Would do it all over again.

Hi Beebic, Thought I would reply as well. I was banded in April right after I returned from a cruise and I was able to have my pre-op diet waived. My bmi was 40, so I guess that was good enough. I have lost 60 lbs since my band and I'm lovin it! Dr. G was great and I had no problems with gas what-so-ever. Good luck, I know for me it was one of the best things I ever did! Blessings, Sally

Hey Jason, Good work on your progress so far, congratulations on your loss. Do you realize you have lost the weight of a small child??? Sounds like your Doc took out a little too much and the temptation to eat the empty calories is getting to you. Once you get another fill you should be OK. Even if I choose to eat the wrong thing, I eat such a small amount that I don't gain and I am still satisfied. Just remember your doc is your employee and he works for you. It is to his benefit to have you telling good stories about him so he should work with you not against you. I think everyone that is overweight thinks the doc will just belittle you for being over weight, after all that was the cause of all your previous problems, that's what we have been told. But this is different and things should turn around for you soon. Good luck on your journey, you have such a good start. Sally

I have 2.5cc in a 4cc band. I did that in 3 fills and have been going good even since. My last fill was in August and I still feel like I am in the right spot.

I had my surgery in Mexico and spent one night in the surgery center. I was glad to be there, I rested nicely and flew home the next day. Take advantage of the opportunity to rest if you doc suggests it! Congrats on taking the first steps to the new you, you will be sooooo happy with the results.

Hey Georgia Girl! How close are you to your goal? Are you still continuing to loose? I have lost over 50 lbs since April but the process is slowing down. How is it going the last few months?

Hi, I have had 3 fills since April and have 2.5 cc's in a 4 cc band. I didn't notice anything on the first fill but fills 2 and especially 3 have put me in a very good place. Just lately I am noticing I can eat a little more but right now I still feel like it is a good place and will stay here till I am not losing anymore. Hi Sharty, I know you probably don't feel like it but you need to walk, walk, walk:cursing:. You need to work that gas out of your system. If you know a good massage therapist (that's what I do) have them work on your abdomen. You don't need much pressure so it should not hurt the incisions. You can even massage yourself, start with small clockwise circles around the navel and gradually get larger. This is very good for constipation as well. If you were close, you could come in and I could work on you. Get you fixed up in a jiffy!:thumbup: It is true, one day you will wake up and feel fine, you will be able to eat and oh boy, will you appreciate it. In the meantime appreciate how much weight you are loosing in the process. Good luck on your journey. Sally

Hi Kathi, Anything is possible but don't be disappointed if you don't loose quite that much. Some people loose right away and others don't loose much at all till they have a couple of fills. The important thing is that you know you are moving in the right direction and you feel good about yourself. You will look good this year but it ain't nothin' compared to how you will look next year!
