Fast food!
I'm so glad I've come across this post. I was starting to think maybe my band was too tight that I couldn't eat so many foods. Anyway, as for fast food, McDonalds - I order the grilled chicken sandwich plain and eat just the chicken.. every now and then I can handle a few fries. Burger King - same thing as McDonalds. Wendy's - the chicken or just chili. Taco Bell - sometimes I can do a hard taco sometimes I can do the Nacho Belgrande. Subway - nothing lol Chick-fil-a - chicken nuggets.

I really just don't know..?
I had surgery on Sept. 9th so thats almost 3 months ago. I've had 4 fills, 3cc the 1st, 3cc the 2nd, 1cc the third, and 1cc the 4th. I am feeling restriction, but can't get the "full" feeling so I am still hungry when I have to physically make myself stop eating or it'll come back up. I have also been having pain in my chest after eating certain things, mostly dinner time. Maybe its from over eating.. I don't know. But I still feel hungry after my pouch is filled with food and maybe a 1/2 hour to an hour later I'm even more hungry. Any experienced this or have any suggestions..???

Looking for a doctor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Check out Surgical Specialists of Louisiana. I had Dr. Clark Warden. They are great!

Starting to feel restriction, but still hungry.
I now have 7cc in a 10cc band and feeling some restriction, things are beginning to get stuck. But even though things are getting stuck and I feel that the pouch is full after eating a bit, I'm still hungry and want to eat more, but simply can't. Does this mean I need another fill to get to that actual "full feeling?"
-
Help! I feel discouraged after 4 fills I still have very little restriction!
I'm shocked there is even a 4cc band! I've never heard of that. I have a 10cc band and already have 6ccs and still have little restriction. My bmi is at 39 right now. I don't think I would have agreed to have just a 4cc band put in me.. theres not much room to work with to get to your "sweet spot." But yea, I'd definitely get another fill I were you.

Pics of scars..R they normal?
They are all obviously a bit red which sometimes means a slight infection. Mine looked like this for just a few days and when I went for my follow up visit 2 weeks after the surgery they gave me a prescription for antibiotics and was told to continue washing them with anti bacterial soap and by the end of the weekend if it wasn't better to fill the prescription. They ended up getting better and didn't need the medicine. I'd suggest calling your doctor just to be safe.

Houma
Dr. Clark Warden with Surgical Specialists of Louisiana did my surgery. Would I still be able to go to the support group even though I didn't go through them for my surgery???
-
Houma
I am in desperate need of a support group in the houma, raceland, morgan city area. My surgery was over a month ago and I've only lost 11 lbs. I'm having a lot of trouble with not being able to drink while I eat and I think thats whats keeping me from losing weight because everything is going right through the band. I had my first fill Monday and still BARELY feel any tightness at all.. its like the band isn't even there. I need help and getting discouraged!

Hiatal Hernia repair
I had surgery on Tuesday, Sept 9th. When I woke up from the surgery the nurse told me they repaired a hiatal hernia. I had no clue I had this. I'd like some feed back from someone whose had one. I'm not even sure what questions to ask lol. I had to do some research on the net to find out what it actually was lol.

Most of you may think I'm freakin nuts...!!!
I had surgery last Tuesday on the 9th, came home, rested, followed eating chart up to yesterday... Okay, I'm feeling GREAT! Soo much better than I thought I would've by reading other people's experiences with this. Yesterday I was feeling soo good, no pains meds needed for 3 days now, no pain at all except for soreness on my port incision....... I ATE GUMBO(with rice and sausage)AND A FRIED SHRIMP(both of my weaknesses!!). I chewed very well and everything was perfectly fine! No pain at all... the only outcome was that I felt fuller after maybe only 1/2 a bowl of food.BEFORE YOU ALL START YELLING AT ME..... lol I KNOW it was wrong and I shouldn't have done it and I should've continued to follow the food chart I was given, but I just couldn't help it. I'm freaking myself out at how great I'm feeling so soon afterwards! I know I'm supposed to change the way I eat or this will never work, but I just couldn't help but try it to see if I could even do it because I was so hungry! I'm not going to continue eating this way, I just did it out of hunger and curiosity after not eating (only drinking and pudding) for 4 days. I have an appointment for next week for my check up and first fill which I can't wait for b/c I need restriction!! I've already lost 10lbs since pre-op. Has anyone out there had a similar experience?? Is it normal to be able to eat those sort of things only a few days after surgery??

What is your surgery date? Let's keep a list.
My surgery was rescheduled due to hurricane Gustav. It was supposed to be on the 4th, now its the 9th!

September 4th bandsters????
Well, I was pretty upset about it until I found out that my house has no damage except for a few shingles missing and my little girl's trampoline is demolished. Then I called Friday about rescheduling and I will be having surgery Tuesday! I was surprised it was that soon! Can't wait though! How did your surgery go?
-
September 4th bandsters????
Unfortunately, I have to reschedule my surgery, thanks to hurricane Gustav. SO, I'm still IMPATIENTLY waiting for my new surgery date!:tongue2:

Southern Surgical Hospital/Hurricane Gustav!!!
Is there anyone out there who was supposed to have surgery this week at Southern Surgical Hospital in Slidell, LA??? I am scheduled for Thursday and talked with someone at the hospital today who said they just got power back and were in the process of getting things up and running again, but they were not sure if surgeries were canceled or not yet. I can not get through to the Doctor's office so I have no clue what to do!! They said they would contact us to let us know but I'm supposed to go to Baton Rouge tomorrow to sign consents and pay the surgeon fees then surgery is the following day and still have not heard anything.

What is your surgery date? Let's keep a list.
I went in for pre-op today! Everything is perfect and looks good for surgery next Thursday... IF hurricane Gustav doesn't cause it to be rescheduled!!!

What is your surgery date? Let's keep a list.
Is that the last day of coverage or does it actually end the day before?

5lb. weight gain before surgery..
Yea, I would have to say the weight gain is from the "last meal syndrome." lol. I'm usually able to loose weight pretty quick so I'll just try to loose it before the surgery. Yea I had to get off of the birth control due to the higher risk of blood clots.

5lb. weight gain before surgery..
My doctor did not put me on a pre-op diet. My only orders were that I had to quit birth control and start taking a B-complex vitamin. I have pre-op on Thursday at the hospital and I'm wondering if it may be a problem if I've gained 5-8lbs since my first consultation on 7/16. Anyone know???:smile2:

September 4th bandsters????
Yea it seems as though insurance would at least cover some portion of it, mine is as exclusion. The 13,600 includes 18 months free fills and covers any complications you may have which is so great! I've heard of many places covering a certain amount of fills, but not complications unless of course there's a defect in the band or if they did something wrong during surgery.
