2nd fill misery, will it get better?

Sounds like you need a unfill. There should be very minimal discomfort from the band if any. If your not getting Water down than you need some saline taken out of your band because you will definately get dehydrated. Good Luck

The band is made to stay in your body permanently.

    I want some REAL food!?!?!?!?!

I was banded on May 29th and I think I'm hungry. It may be psycological though. When and what type of protein shakes help?

    Insurance Help

I have Aetna HMO and I am scheduled to be banded on May 29th. Aetna was a breeze compared to other insurance companies. If you BMI is between 35-40 w/ a comorbodity (sp) than its no problem. Or your BMI is just 40 alone. They only require a 2 year weight history now. Good Luck and keep searching the forums because there is a forum for Aetna approval on here.

    Helllllp Please!!!

I know you wanted more responses from experienced bandsters but I was reading through the threads and couldn't help but reply to you... I'm scheduled to be banded on May 29th:smile:. I can't wait!!! What your feeling is very natural. Sometimes in order to adjust to a drastic changes in life we have to overcome fear, and many people handle it differently. We naturally fear the unknown. Its kinda like a first time mother with post pardom (sp). You need to remember the reason you choose to get the band in the first place. I'm sure you didn't just jump right into this, you were banded because you made this decision and believe me this is the hardest decision that I feel like I have ever made in my life. But its going to be ok. I couldn't image failing at gastric bypass after having all my organs re-assembled and lack of needed nutrition. Atleast with the band you have the option of getting it removed it you needed to.. Relax and embrace the new you. Your still human and the same person before the band, you just have a little buddy assisting in loosing weight better than any personal trainer. As mentioned in a previous post, I'm sure all of this will subside once you start eating solids. Good Luck and hang in there.......:smile2:

    Long time reader

Congragulations La La on your surgery. I will be getting mine on May 29th. I can hardly wait. Keep me posted on your progress and best of luck to you. Drew I agree with you 100% this is the best forum I have ever ran across myself. I don't know what I would do without it. Support, Support, Support and more Support is all I can say. Good luck to you on your journey.

    Hi from Maryland

Good Luck!!! I also have a BMI of 40, with sleep apnea. They can't deny you if you meet all guidelines of what your insurance company requires. I have Aetna HMO. Search you surgery requirements with your insurance company. I also live in Maryland, I'm getting my surgery at GW with Doctor Moazzez on 5/29/08. I was feeling just like you until I read all of Aetna's requirements, and of course support from thsi site.

    I Have A Date!!

My co-worker is going through the same thing. Approval, but must loose weight before the surgery. She has been drinking lots and lots of water. She drinks a protein shake in the morning and eats fruits and veggies the rest of the day. She gets up every 2-3 hours and walks for 10-15 minutes. I can see a difference and it has only been 2 weeks. Good Luck

If I knew what I knew today ...

Don't worry about it. Losing weight at a slow rate is better for you. You also have more time allow your body to adjust to this drastic change. 43lbs is very good in 6 months. Just hang it there it will come. Atleast your not gaining any of it back.
