    Any old timers still around?

Hi Shirley, Im only 2 weeks post surgery so its way too early to say. Still popping percocet like crazy. I made 100 degrees of flexion today at PT and was able to ride the bike a bit. Therapist said I way ahead of typical. Im a very sore puppy though. I believe the BioMet implant was used. I had my hip done about 5 years ago and it is fantastic!! Completely cured the pain.

    Any old timers still around?

Im coming up on 4 years banded and still very happy. Ive gained a bit back from my lowest point but still down 90 from where I started. I recently went back to the gym to get some more of it back. I just had a knee replacement which is slowing me down a bit but I hope to be back to the gym in a couple weeks to restart the downward progress. I am a happy camper!
  4. Hi everyone... All is well here. Had a fill in january to get myself back on track. Down about 15 since then. Another 15 to go to be back where I should be. Down about 90 from where I started.

    Any old timers still around?

I'm still around. I've gained a little bit back but still down 100 pounds from starting weight. Getting the band was a great decision and I'd do it again in a minute. Got an adjustment just after the first of the year and the extra pounds are coming off. It's major 'tight' now. Hang in there everyone....
  6. I suggest you have a direct conversation with the insurance company. The diabetes is a significant risk factor that weight loss would greatly help and that could work in your favor. A letter from your Endocrinologist recommending WLS may also help.
  7. That is going to depend on the insurance company. There should be a thread in the forum for each insurance company. The best advice to speed things up is to get on the 'physician supervised diet' with monthly weigh ins ASAP. You have to be on that 6 months before most insurance will approve. You should also make sure your insurance doesnt have a bariatric surgery exclusion.
  8. I was a baaaaaaad boy........
  9. Merry Christmas to you too.... The band is still serving me well. Ive gained back about 12 pounds from my lowest but Im still at about 108 lost. Im hitting the gym again to put a dent in those 12 pounds.
  10. Dr Portenier did my surgery. Nice Guy.... Highly recommended.
  11. congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. It is good to see some activity here again.... I am also pretty much stuck. I had hoped the summer would help me break thru this wall for the last 15 pound push. My gall bladder decided to interrupt the party last week and demand my attention. Now that its out... I get to start this all over again. fun fun fun....
  13. Its been pretty quiet here for a while. Had a fill yesterday... +1cc. We will see how this works out. Getting close to goal.... But vacation is coming in two weeks which will surely stop progress and could even cost me a few pounds.... oh well... such is life. Ill recover Im sure! :blushing:
  14. HA!! Thats funny!! Do you ever notice a sloshing sound when you are walking after drinking something? It surprised me at first.
  15. Hi Everyone!! Had my one year checkup today. Down 113 pounds. T minus 17 and counting! Also had a small fill... added .5cc for a total of 9cc in a 14cc Lapband AP. Im so pleased with this band.... Who would have thought that something so simple could do so much good. Congrats to everyone for one year of 'fun'.....
