  1. Just decided against it because our fruit/veg delivery had so many brown bottom mushrooms and shiitake in it that I'll do some kind of stew instead before they go bad. Plus I have some three day old piece of flat bread at home that I could test my new sandwich maker on that would go with it just fine.
  2. Someone over at Obesity Help posted this video from Abbey Sharp. I think it's worth a watch and want to share the video. Emotional Eating During Social Isolation for COVID-19
  3. Unfortunately I think that he might be right with this. However, I also think that it will be dependent on the area you're living in. Anyway, I don't think I need to make any plans for having plastics anytime soon.
  4. Something with animal protein in it. Feels pretty junky because of the canned tuna in hot & spicy sauce I got at the Asian grocery store yesterday. Uncle Ben's microwave basmati rice, hard boiled eggs, the tuna and some frozen spinach. Feels like comfort food. Needs 5 min when you already have the hard boiled eggs.
  5. It's definitely a luxury to have enough space (hopefully a garden) and alone time these days.
  6. Tomato sauce based stew with zucchini, pinto beans, red and yellow bell pepper and peanut butter. Ras el hanout spice.

Shopping for groceries after work. I simply didn't bin the mask before I got home. Unfortunately there are still only a few people with masks. I've seen a few people of East Asian origin with masks but otherwise... At least many patients are getting masks now on the wards before they go to the radiology department.
  8. Working in health care at a clinic of maximum care is kind of scary these days. We're still waiting for the big fall out. We have several ICU patients with COVID-19 so far, two of them were referred from another clinic in the country and man their lungs look scary on the CT scan... This feels so much like only waiting for this sh*t biting your ass. Right now everyone is convinced that every one of us will catch it sooner or later with protection clothing still a problem etc. My husband belongs to a group of people with higher risk as well. We don't know yet how we're going to handle the situation. Not visiting for maybe several months? One mustn't think about what could happen. Well, of course the thoughts pop up and anxiety comes in wave. Better not engage with them and stop the catastrophizing.
  9. Two different sorts of bread with cashew cheese and herb spread, yellow bell pepper, cashew nuts, Alnatura's "toskana balls", dried figs and apricots.

Yes, but not for thread starters only,
  11. Hmmmmmm, I maybe could make pita pizza this weekend...
  12. summerset replied to Celeste97's topic in Rants & Raves
Yes, and that started this whole mess.
  13. Lunchbox for tomorrow. Dried coconut strips, kaki and sour cherries, cashew nuts. Leftover herb dip hidden under rucola cress (protection for transport), roasted mixed vegetables with tofu "feta".
  14. Since the cafeteria is more or less closed: my brand new yum box with food for tomorrow:
  15. While I don't know why you posted this, I LOLed at this. ? There is a lot on controversy about carbonation among surgeons, like maybe it will stretch out or pouch or not or if it will wreck your anastomosis over the years or not. I don't know what to make out of this. Evil tongues claim that surgeons say "no carbonation" to scare patients away from regular soda forever and use the scare mongering tactic because us fatties can't for sure ever be trusted to follow the rule "no regular soda".
  16. Did they recommend upping the calories because of the stall? It's hard to tell if an amount of calories is too high or too low. There is way too much variety between persons, even if they have the same height, gender, weight and even activity level. Sometimes playing around with macronutrients helps or switching up exercise routine. Some people benefit from IF, some from eating at maintenance level for a while before lowering calories again (you might want to take a look at the MATADOR study regarding this). In the end there is only trial and error. If it works, it's all good. If it doesn't work, you need to change something.
  17. Yes, I know what you mean. But then again I have that thought every time I leave the house and go shopping. Part of me wishes to catch it soon, have a mild case of course and be over with this s*it.

While these simple fabrics are not offering adequate protection for yourself you can still help protecting others by wearing a mask. Show them off!
  19. Forget about sugar, carbs, fat, protein. How many calories are you eating?
  20. My husband works home office and my job is considered "essential" as well. Our friends and relatives all seem to either work in "essential" jobs as well or are in retirement already.
  21. More exercise -> higher energy expenditure -> more appetite. It's actually pretty normal.
