  2. @claddagh66- thank you! I feel much better today! The first couple days I felt fine, but when I came home, since I had to walk up steps & whatnot, my pain seemed to skyrocket. But I'm on day 4 post op, and I folded some laundry, made my kids a snack, and sat on my bed while tidying my room- so I am feeling like I'll be normal in no time! 5. My insurance didn't authorize until I completed the lifestyle classes and finished all my testing. Once my surgeon called me to let me know insurance okayed the operation, that same phone call was when I set the date. I was in the program for 6 months before even getting authorized for insurance. Maybe different insurances do it differently? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. When insurance authorizes the surgery is when you'll be able to set a date Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. That's how I plan on weighing myself. Don't. I'll weigh in at dr appointments, but I don't need extra stress on top of my recovery that the scale would add. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I just had mine 4/18! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I was in the hospital 2 days, I'm off work for 4 weeks. I got the roux en Y. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. I know I can barely get two sips of anything down. Not sure if that's good or bad, it's just my experience. I'm 4 days post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I have a 3,2,&1 year old. I'm 4 days post op today, and it is heart wrenching that my kids want me to get up and play, but we explained to them before I came home that Mommy was in the hospital, so I can't play right now. They seem to understand, because now they just ask to lay down in bed beside me. It is so sweet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I am so grateful for this forum. So glad I'm not alone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Roni, I remember getting the call! And being asked "How soon do you want your surgery?" I spent an entire month(due to work) not being able to hold my excitement in. That's all I talked about to any & everyone!!! Congratulations everyone Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I can't wait to do all of these things! I'm only 3 days post op- but reading this list makes me so excited for my future! I can't wait to run with my kids, take my dog for a walk, shop at a normal store that doesn't just sell drawstring pants, sleep COMFORTABLY & being able to breathe! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'm 3 days post op- and I'm feeling the same way! Like- what have I done to my body? I'm in so much pain, and I haven't been able to drink broth or anything- just Water. The gas they use during surgery is unbearable! I also have a strange crease/indentation in my abdomen. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Thanks! Good luck to you too! Mine isn't scheduled yet, but next month is my final group weigh in, and my surgery can be scheduled! I'm excited!
  18. I have a lot of people currently telling me I am "too small" for a gastric bypass, and "why don't I just go to the gym?" I'm sure they mean well, but they really don't know what I'm going through in order for several physicians and surgeons to sign off on me being able to get the surgery, so I let them say what they feel they need to say- and I don't let it affect me. At the end of the day, it's YOUR LIFE, your decision, and your recovery!
  19. I'm new to this! I'm 26, have 4 children- and having kids so close together really took a toll on my body. My youngest 3 were born in 2012, 2013, & 2014. I have Pseudotumor Cerebri, which causes massive headaches and papilledema of my eyes. We're hoping this surgery will help with a lifestyle change that will make my symptoms easier to live with on a daily basis, since I'm about 100 pounds overweight- and it only took me 3 years to get there. I've tried dieting, exercise, the Medi-Weight loss program, the works! Nothing seems to have helped- so I'm ready for this next step in changing my life for my kids. My final weigh-in before I can get my surgery scheduled is NEXT MONTH, so I'm really excited!
