Friends and family reaction your wls surgery
My co-workers, close friends, and family have been nothing but supportive and encouraging. I have had some peripheral friends who have had non-reactions but nothing negative said to me. My best friend has always been heavy (it was an experience/POV that we shared and bonded over) but she lives on the other side of the world currently. I think if she were here it would be a strange transition for our relationship.

Any RN's on here?
RN here. I had 6 full weeks of medical leave. Getting enough water and protein in during work days was definitely a challenge at first. I would drink a protein shake on the way to work and eat lunch and a snack. It definitely got easier after a month or so. 9 months later I have now perfected my eating schedule and manage to get all my protein and most of my water in. On the drive to work I drink a shake, 9am breakfast snack, 1pm lunch, 3pm snack, then dinner when I get home.

Thank you!! To be completely honest I have no idea what all that means! I show up twice a week and do what she tells me to do! Lol. I think it's just strength training, though.

Protein Pudding
I can't wait to try the other flavor combos. It's nice to have something relatively guilt free! Eggface's blog also suggests blending premier RTD with a tbsp of sugar free pudding mix and ice for thicker shakes with different flavors. The two she did that looked the best were: banana shake + cheesecake pudding vanilla shake + lemon pudding

Umm, how do you tell your daughter she might need this?
My dad had surgery about 4 or 5 years before me. At one point he asked me if I had ever thought about it and gave me the binders from his surgeon's program. That's the only time we had ever talked about it. I had thought about surgery before that and thought about it for a few years after but I was pretty young (19 or 20) and it didn't seem plausible at that point. I had surgery at the beginning of the year, a few weeks before my 24th birthday. Only you know the relationship between you and your daughter. A one time, "have you ever thought about it?" probably isn't going to hurt anything and is your safest bet if you feel like you have to initiate the conversation.

Did i really need the surgery?
when you post on a public forum you won't just get people agreeing with you. If you ask "did I make a mistake" then you have to be prepared to hear "yes I think you did" Yes which is why I said they did ask the question. But your goal weight has nothing to do with whether or not another person needs surgery. This particular individuals BMI was considered obese and they obviously had a surgeon approve their case. A good majority of us could probably have lost weight with diet and exercise
