  1. My surgery was 1/18/16 with Dr. Moon at St. Elizabeth. Where did you have yours? And where are you at in your diet stages?
  2. I'll be fine Even though I'm not always right I can count on the sun to shine Dedication takes a lifetime Dreams only last for a night
  3. I just did my math. 22.5 weeks out Average 3.27lbs per week
  4. My hospital has 3 locations. Only 1 location performs WLS (not the one I work at, but I do get pulled there on occasion). I didn't tell anyone and I worked in the float pool at the time so when they all said "I haven't worked with you in a while" they assumed I had been assigned to other units. I actually planned on telling people but I had a panic reaction and lied and now I regret it occasionally. People comment on my weight loss almost daily. One nurse supervisor that works at both locations I guess saw me in her admissions list and knew I had surgery. After my surgery I got pulled to the ICU at my sister location and she told people while I was there that I had surgery. I sent her an email telling her I don't discuss it at work and asked her to respect my privacy. Her response was "she didn't even think about it" which really kind of ticked me off that a nurse supervisor "didn't even think" about violating my HIPPA rights.. She also said "people are going to notice" I didn't even respond.
  5. Thank you all for the kind words!
  6. Ahhh! Congratulations onederland buddy! We did it!
  7. Thank you!! My next mini goal is 190lbs. I will officially be overweight instead of obese!
  8. For 3 days I have stepped on the scale and the first number was a ONE!! I waited 3 days to post because I was convinced my scale was pranking me! The last time I weighed <200 was 12+ years ago in elementary school or early junior high. I'm so unbelievably excited that this is real! I can't believe I weighed almost 100lbs more than I do right now just a year ago. Highest weight/SW: 297.6 lbs Surgery 1/18/16: 267.6 lbs GW: 150 lbs Current weight: 198.4 lbs!!!!!! Total loss: 99.2 lbs
  9. I had surgery on January 18, 2016. I was 23 at the time (turned 24 in Feb). I am a little less than 6 months out from surgery and I have had a total weight loss of 97lbs, 67lbs of those pounds since my surgery date! My life has changed in many ways all for the better. I feel like a new person. The first few weeks after surgery are difficult but once you get through them life is relatively normal. I do not regret my decision at all and it was worth every tear shed and spoonful of mush eaten in the beginning stage!
  10. I would like to join if I still can! Starting weight 200.8lbs Goal weight 188.8lbs
  11. The picture on the left is from late July 2015. I was just beginning my journey to WLS and weighed somewhere are 294lbs. The middle and right picture are from early May 2016, about 206lbs. SW 297.7 (June 2015) Surgery 267.6 (Jan 18, 2016) CW 200.8 GW 150.0
  12. I wore sports bras as much as possible for two months after surgery. They were just more comfortable. I only had one very small incision a few inches below my bra band
  13. Yesterday I had a bad diet day. I had people over for a game night and participated in the demolishing of a pack of m&m Cookies. I went to bed feeling guilty and upset with myself. I am SO close to reaching onederland and a 100lbs loss (currently 204.0, 197.6 will be -100lbs). Today I refocused, worked out with my trainer, it's only 12:30pm and I'm half way to my Water and Protein goals! If I can do it SO CAN YOU! If you had a bad day brush it off and start over. We can do this!
  14. I had 6. But 4 of them are only one cm in length. They need places for the blades, suction, etc. to go through.
  15. I chose not to tell any of my coworkers because I didn't want to have the same conversation and answer the same 5 questions from 50 different people. Most people just say "you're looking good" or "good job". The occasional person will ask what I'm doing to which I say low carbs, high protein and working out. My medical history is no ones business but my own!
  16. Maybe your body is telling you it needs more time before that particular activity
  17. I'm 3 months out and it's rare that anything tastes good in the same way for me. I still crave things but even if I indulge I take a couple bites and am turned off by it. Everything your describing sounds completely normal though. It gets easier to eat enough volume and calories with time
  18. June 2015: 297.6 lbs 1/18 Surgery: 267.6 lbs Today: 215.0 lbs 82.6lbs gone forever and just 65 more lbs to goal! Seeing these pictures side by side has given me new motivation!
  19. My MIL-to-be took this picture at a family outing today. This is the first time I've really been able to see the progress. First picture was taken September 2015 about 280lbs. The second was taken today (I'll be 3 months post op 4/18) 215.0 lbs. Wearing the same shirt in both pictures... I'm speechless and so glad I did this.
  20. Completely normal! I had never had any kind of anesthesia, surgery, or pain medicine of any kind before this! I am a nurse and I just kept telling myself, "You've sent patients to surgery a million times and they've all come back out" Find some way to reassure yourself that works for you! 24 years old Starting 6/12/15: 297.6lbs Surgery 1/18/16: 267.7lbs Today: 222.8lbs
