    Getting back on track?

Welcome!!!! So glad you found us!! So far my solution is walking and eating small portions more often. Also, keeping the bad stuff out of the house. Not losing crazy amount of weight either. My clothes are getting bigger but the scale doesn't show alot of weight loss. If I don't eat, I can't think. I look at the people who can starve themselves and still work and feel light headed and wonder how they can do it.

    Getting back on track?

One of the hardest things I have to face is getting the food I like to eat too much of out of the house; ice cream, crackers, and chips. I won't bring that stuff in the house anymore because I eat it. I've substitued fresh fruit, and frozen ices. I've just cancelled my appt. with my lap band dr. because i couldn't get off of work for my fill. So now I have to wait until Oct. So I am going to have to shrink my stomach on my own for now. I've been reading the nutrition thread. What I have gathered now is Protein is first and foremost. so I am going to cut my portion size (like if I had my fill) and eat more often. I have prepared for this week. My one big problem is I am allergic to whey, so any kind of soft cheese is out for me. I have to find sources of protein in other places mostly soy. Let me tell you, that gets old after awhile. So glad that there are others like me out there!

    Getting back on track?

I'm so glad to have found this thread. I too had a huge set back and had to have my band deflated. In January, I went to the ER because I was throwing up a black substance. I had a CAT scan and was diagnosed with a "thickend Dilated Esophagus". I had all of the cc's removed from my band. On top of that I was taken off all of my arthritus meds. Walking was painful, so I did alot of sitting around. I was down from a size 26 to an 18 now back up to a 24. I had my first fill, but still feel very defeated. I haven't given up and started walking again, can get in about 1 mile a day. Has anyone every considered doing a lower body lift to aide in their weight loss journey?

I'm comfused, when I log straight into this thread via lapband site, I don't find these comments. When I get a notice that someone replied to this thread I find these comments. Anyone know why?

Yep, she does go to a Weight Watcher Group. I think she means by using WW or something else that doesn't require surgery.

I think that you've done a remarkable job in losing so much weight in 10 weeks. It has taken me 11 months to lose 28. I have my own story about what people say.... I go to bunco group once a month and every month one person tells me wasn't there some you you could have lost the weight on your own? Since Bunco is coming up soon again i've been thinking of what to say back to her. I've come up with this one, but it isn't nice "Peg, closed minedeness doesn't become you".

    Food allergies

I'm so sorry for you!!!! Perhapse you need to stay away from places that serve fish and if that isn't possible just take benedryl before going to a restaurant just to be safe. Would an epipen help?

    needing some kind of.. reassurance

I've been there and with this last fill i'm back again. Very thin people won't eat the high calorie stuff, thats why they don't need the band and we do. My husband brought home roasted chicken yesterday, I had been looking through the liquid stage part of the forum and was encouraged to try blending the chicken like a Soup and eat it. Heaven!!! Liquid stage just doesn't mean shakes!

    Meal ideas for mushies?

I've had to go back to mushies after this last fill. I never needed to do it until now. I'm so glad baby food isn't the only answer. I have an immersion blender and try to use that for now. Thanks for the infor everyone.

    trouble finding port

I wasn't able to hold anything down yesterday. I know that I should go back, but I can't stand another poking session. I'm wishing that this passes fast.

    trouble finding port

I'm glad that i'm not the only one with port troubles. I'm getting very discouraged. The clinic i'm going to is waiting for the software for a "port finder" and it is supposed to be easy to find the port. I've had 3 different dr. do my fill and it is just a matter of technique. When I have finally had enough of the newbies and ask for the experienced dr. it doesn't hurt. This last time I had air in the fill and it made me very sick. Has anyone ever had a small amount of valium before a fill? I'm thinking of asking for a small amount so I don't freak out. I've been hurt these last two times. It has been 8 days since my last fill and I have been only able to hold down food for the last 3 days.
