    Gastric Balloon Procedure Booked!

I got my balloon two weeks ago, I have lost 11 pounds, and have not been following instructions very well. I was very sick the first week, tried to go back to work, really shouldn't have. Take a week off. I need a dietician visit because I can eat most anything, but don't feel overfull until about two hours later, then I feel sick. I need to be more careful and watch portion sizes much more closely.

@@monniet50 Great job! I just finished week 2, lost 13 pounds the first week, and now have gained 2 in the second. I was soooo sick the first week, and could not eat much. Now I am eating just about anything, and feel like most of the time the balloon isn't even there until about 2 hours after I eat and then I feel full. Any thoughts?

Another newbie getting ready for Orbera

We had to take my dad for back surgery so we went to Applebee's and I had soup and salad, first time eating out but I ate too much (that was 5 hours ago) and I feel like I have a bowling ball in my stomach.

Hi everyone, I haven't lost any weight since Friday, but I can eat most anything. I'm sure I'm eating too much but better food, and then feeling nauseous for hours. I have to get a handle on the balance still.

    Here we go!

AnnCade I was pretty sick for the first 5 days or so, but it got better day by day. I drank protein shakes and water mostly. Try just a little at a time, and don't use a straw. Straws put too much air in with the water. I have shoved mine over more that once, and doing a downward dog yoga pose seems to help too. I till my sister today, if you knew you'd be sicker than hell for maybe two weeks, but you'd lose the weight would you do it? Of course she said hell yes, so just plan to deal with it. I'm on day 8, and have lost 13 pounds. Good luck to you!

@@jeff636 Hi Jeff, did you have problems with being weak from lack of nutrition, and how did you get through it? Does it get better?

Hi everyone, I am so shocked by the weight loss of 11 pounds, I'm not sure what to think. I am so weak though, I can't stand for very long without getting dizzy. It's worse in the morning I think because I haven't eaten all night and then I have to drink' my protein as quickly as I can to feel better. Without going too fast either, and getting sick. Last night I made a little refried beans with a bit of cheese and sour cream. It was heaven, I gotta find a balance here with my protein though, this being so weak is for the birds! Have a great day guys!

    Here we go!

@@jaydee68 I had one of those kinda mornings yesterday, tried to get dressed to go work, and started having major acid and spasms. I chewed some tums and water, then took a xanax and went back to bed. The rest of the day was very good, and I am at work this morning feeling fine. A little weak for sure, and it's funny, but I have to have my protein shake before I can even have coffee now, since I haven't had any real food since Thursday. Thankfully, I love the protein shakes I bought, they are called pure protein, frosty chocolate. 35 grams of protein and only 4 carbs. Makes me feel better much faster. Every day, it gets a little better, just hang in there. I really think this is going to work!

@@Sue Magoo The Orbera balloon feels exactly how you would think, you have a large piece of plastic filled with saline floating around. It sometimes feels jammed up under my ribs, and I just have to move around to get it to move. No hunger at all. You have to make yourself drink the Protein or suffer side effects like headaches. It's day 4 for me, and I think it's getting easier every day. 7 pounds down and about 40 to go.

    Here we go!

@@jaydee68 Just follow the rules, and make sure you take your pills, for me they are easier to take after a sip or two of protein shake. Moving around helps too. Hope everything goes well for you!

@@ria122 Thanks! I will try that! I am very surprised as well about the weight loss, I am trying very hard to stick to the plan as outlined. Since I'm never hungry it hasn't been too hard. I have been doing some downward dog poses too, it seems to help shift the balloon just a bit to be more comfortable when it feels stuck high up under my ribs. Have you tried any "real" food yet? I had a couple ounces of pureed soup on the last two days, but could only manage two ounces.

@@jansluv Hi there, I have found that the sooner I have some protein shake when I wake up, the better I feel. I drink about 3 ounces, and then I can take my pills. I am on day 4, and am going to try very hard to get my two cans of protein down by the end of the day to see if that will relieve the stomach cramping. besides protein shakes and water, I have pureed beef vegetable soup, and just having some flavor has been great. I can only have about 2 ounces though, and that takes me about 30 minutes to get down. Haven't thrown up in 2 days, and have lost 7 pounds. I plan on staying liquids through the first 7 days, seems like the people who do that get a better head start on the weight loss. Hope everyone has a good day!

@@ria122 How are you doing today? I had some pretty bad cramping whern I woke up this morning. I planned on going to work, but turns out I don't think I am there yet. 7 pounds gone as of this morning, so I am very encouraged. I am very thankful for my protein shakes, since that is the only thing that helps me feel better. Also, the acid feflux is pretty bad at times, what did you take for it? Can we use tums or Pepto Bismol?

@@jaydee68 GOOD LUCK TODAY!!! Expect the worst and be happy when it's not as bad as you thought. I am day 4, morning was rough, had cramps and spasms. Thats when I have to take a zanax. Helps a bunch to calm things down. I am also learning that I have to have my protein shake as soon as possible after waking. Just a couple small sips really help. So, morning of day 4, I have lost 7 pounds. Pretty crazy, not hungry at all,

I have to force myself to drink my Protein, cuz without it I get horrible headaches. 4 pounds in 2 dqays is pretty good though, I will take it. Have good day, and take care of yourselves everybody. Orbera Success strategies

Hi everyone, I had my balloon on Friday, the 29th. First night was pretty bad, really bad headache, lots of vomiting, I think I was drinking too much and too fast. I have found a good protein shake, but can only drink about 3 ounces in 2 hours. I have no hunger at all, but have been pretty nauseous still. I am hoping to go back to work on Monday, but it's just a desk job, so nothing strenuous. I pureed some beef and barley soup but could only manage 3 teaspoons. That was 2 hours ago and I feel stuffed still. I love reading everyone's experiences, it helps a ton. Good luck everyone!!

@@ria122 Good morning, I just woke up. I had the procedure at 9:30 yesterday morning. Pretty rough day and night, The worst part was the bad headache I had. I threw up many times, but I think I drank too much and too fast because I was so thirsty. Woke up today though, and feel a hundred times better. I think this is going to be great! How are you doing today? If you work, have you gone back? I'm hoping to go back on Monday, but we shall see. Have a great day!
