Congrats! You look Great

Had a Dr appointment today and he told me I can get my 1st fill next week. Could not be soon enough for me as I don't want to overeat. I already gained 3 lbs in the last week and a half. Wish me luck that I will feel some restriction on the 1st try...

I was banded Feb 6th and felt restriction immediately as well. Am now 3 weeks out and I feel I can eat anything. I am using smaller plates and mostly pureed foods (cheating a little and eating whole foods too). However, I had two plates yesterday and was still not full. Is this normal? I have not had a fill yet and will most likey not get it for another two-three weeks. I am worried that I will gain back the 23 lbs lost. Am logging my food and getting avg 1,000 calories and some days closer to 1500. Is that bad?

I mix with 6oz Vanilla Soy milk, some water and ice and 1/2 bananna and blend. Taste like a shake. Good Luck

Was banded yesterday and very tired and a bit sore. Trying to get rid of the GAS too, which is the most uncomfortable part for me. I will try to walk outside tomorrow. Had a bad sore throat from the breathing tube, but is seems better tonight. Looking forward to getting more active.

Hi OvrLvl, Yes, I went thru my insurance Aetna. It took about a week to 10 days to get approval. I went to my first seminar in July and had to go thru all the test, and 3 months of Behavior, fitness and nutrition ( my insurance required it). Then had to wait for the staff to put all of my paperwork together to send to Aetna. It seemed like it took forever, so be patient. Good luck and keep in touch. I have 1 day until my surgery and am ready but kind of nervous.

Hi, I really enjoy reading these threads and talking with everyone. You give me so much encouragement. I am 5 days away from Surgery and I think it is just starting to sink in that this way of eating small lowfat meals (I am on day 10 of the liquid diet) is the way life will be from here on out. I was getting depressed and thought I should re-consider this until I came back and started reading everyone's encouraging words and thoughts. I am still a little scared but have made up my mind that I need to do this for myself, to be a healthier, happier me. Food should no longer be my crutch. Keeps on writing and I look forward to talking to you all after my surgery.:biggrin:

I have the same date Feb 6th. I start the liquid diet tomorrow and hope I can stick to it. Had to get rid of all the junk food in the house so I would not be tempted. Good Luck to you all and I look forward to reading more on everyone's experiences.

I am so excited. Aetna approved me on 12/21/07 and my Doctor gave me a surgery date today. It is 2/6/08. I am to start my two week pre-op liquid diet soon and cannot wait to get started. I am so ready for this. A little worried about the Gas pains but will wait to see what happens. Is there anything I can do to try to prevent the Gas pains before the surgery?
