    New Jersey Sleevers?

@@ttsofab that's awesome! I have a minor setback... they found I had h pylori during my endoscopy so I have 5 more days of the meds for that, getting wisdom teeth out on the 3rd then have to wait 4 weeks for the breath test to make sure I'm rid of the infection. Kind of disappointing as I finished all other appointments ahead of time. What kind of preop diet did Dr Goldstein put you on and for how long? How long after your insurance approved it was he able to set up the surgery? I'm hoping after my testing and insurance approval that I'll be in by end of April or early may. So happy to hear that you liked him and it went well for you

That's awesome! Your date is so soon! I'll have to meet with a pulmonologist to go over my sleep study and get clearance. I've completed everything else but can't seem to get an appt soon enough for the pulmonologist I was hoping to have surgery the first week of April but so far things have been delayed. Can't wait to hear how your surgery goes! Keep us updated
  4. Your post just made my day! Glad I'm not the only one going through that. I'm in preop stages, I'm 29 not married or in a relationship and not sure I even want to have kids. But I get the lecture too that I won't be able to have them for 2 years after surgery. If I'm not in a committed relationship I'm not even thinking of kids!!! But seriously don't let anyone make you feel like you didn't do it the natural way.. that doesn't work for everyone. We've obviously tried that! And this is definitely not an easy way out as many people seem to think. We are giving up soooo much more!

    New Jersey Sleevers?

I agree that would be really nice! I'll check with my surgeon to find a support group
  6. Hey all, I'm in the pre-op stages with the last of my appointments scheduled over the next 2 weeks so I've been reading more and more on the forums. I'm not really sure what the pre-op diet is going to be like, but I know I'll have to give up the coffee which is why I'm slowly trying to come off of it now. I work overnight and on slow nights the caffeine is the only thing keeping me awake! So I'm curious to know how your energy levels were pre-op and post-op? Also even though it's different for everyone how long were you out of work for surgery? I'm concerned I'll have such low energy I won't be able to concentrate at work and I'm worried I won't have enough time to take off of work.

    always thirsty?

Ok I am still in the pre-op stages, but I feel thirsty a lot and I normally drink a lot of Water in a day. The more I read about the sleeve it seems like it would take forever for me to drink the same amount of water I normally drink in a day. Am I going to feel thirsty and dehydrated ALL the time after getting the sleeve? What do you do if you get the "stuck" feeling, but aren't supposed to drink at the same time you eat? I don't think I've ever gone a meal without having a drink too... maybe that is something I'll have to start now.

    always thirsty?

Thanks everyone. I'm definitely going to try to start not drinking with meals. I'm a dispatcher so I almost always have a drink especially when I have to eat right at the desk, so this will take some getting used to. But I'd rather start now to make it easier after surgery. I drink almost a gallon of Water a day now so it'll be a big adjustment in the beginning if I'm not drinking as much, but hey maybe I won't have to use the bathroom as much either!

Any tips for long midnight shifts?

So glad I found this post. I'm still in the pre-surgery stages and have started thinking how I'd manage to stay hydrated and not eat while working dispatch at night.
