I had my surgery this afternoon. I've been in and out of sleep. The pain is very moderate. Honestly is just the gas. I've been trying to fart for a couple hours now lol tmi. The staff at my hospital are awesome. I'm not allowed to drink anything until tomorrow. Overall I feel great I hope I heal quickly. I'm so happy I did this????????????????

    Hi Everyone,
I decided to be proactive and called my insurance (BCBS Federal) and found out that I was approved on Friday, so I called my doctor's office right away this morning and got everything scheduled. I still have appointments to do the EGD, blood work, meet with the nutritionist to get my liquid diet, and meet with the nurse and do the precertification at the hospital...but I'm scheduled for the 25th!
For those who may be wondering, I had to do 3 months with a nutritionist without gaining weight, get a psych evaluation (I passed, LOL), and provide a 2 year weight history before the insurance would approve me.
I just told my boss, who will keep the real reason I'll be on leave in confidence. I'm hoping to just need to take 2 weeks off.
Oh I'm so nervous and excited I can hardly stand myself right now, LOL.
Is there anyone else scheduled for surgery near when I am?

So I got approval for my sleeve. My surgery is January 19. Everything happened so quick. Any tips on what I will need for my hospital stay? any recommendations on what brands/things to buy for my liquid diet. Any advise is greatly appreciated. I have also recently quit smoking....I am using a vape with 0 nicotine liquid. I feel very overwhelmed...........

Update. I'm home and it's day three. I'm drinking more because what's weird is you pee is brown for a couple of day so now that I've been drinking more it clear. That mite be tmi.lol make sure to walk walk and walk some more my gas pain went away because I walked alot in the hospital. I'm sore but not in alot of pain still nausea but I take meds before trying to drink anything other than Water. Make sure to do the breathing exercises the last thing anyone wants it chest pains from pneumonia. All this is temporary so keep your heads up and everything will subside eventually. Go luck guys! If any wants prayers let me know. Thank to everyone who prayed for me.

Hi everyone!! Sorry I haven't checked in before now. Sounds like you all are doing great. I had a great surgery, doc found a hiatal hernia and repaired it, pretty rough time after surgery but it was mostly due to gas pain and a nurse that was not very helpful. My catheter was bent wrong or something and I was in excruciating pain because I had to pee and it wouldn't let me. I had trouble getting help with that and didn't receive any pain meds until 4 hours after surgery. As soon as they fixed my catheter and gave me pain meds, it's been so much better!! I have had 2 c-sections and this is so much easier for me. I had to reduce my pain meds a couple days after surgery so I would slow down. I thought maybe I wasn't feeling enough and I would hurt myself by doing too much.
I actually feel amazing and have so much energy. I did not expect to feel this good so soon. I'm down 20lbs including 5 day pre-op diet and had to get a new pair of jeans yesterday! Woohoo!!
