3 months post op - discouraged
I'm the same way with peanut butter. I have to stay away from it too.

3 months post op - discouraged
This is exactly how I want to approach this. I'm almost a month out and inching toward 800 calories. Mostly through food. I could stay here happily for a while but I'm going to consciously try to inch up at three months. I'm so worried about ruining my metabolism. I'm saving this.

Help!!!
I was (or thought I was) pretty hungry the first two weeks. Once I started on purée it changed. I rarely feel actual hunger now but when I do feel it I am super hungry, like I gotta eat right now hungry. Usually things improve and the buyers remorse fades away. Hope you feel better.

To scale or not to scale
Oh how I can relate to this. I have been trying to force myself to only weigh once a week but that weight definitely has an impact on my mood and how I feel. Even if I followed everything to the letter I can't help but feel bad. Yesterday I "gained" a pound. It wasn't my weigh in day but "I felt fat" so I weighed. Wth is wrong with me? Was I hoping it would be down so I could "feel less fat"? Idk. I have no answers for you. Sorry. I just relate to this.

When will I feel normal again?
My stomach felt good at two weeks post op. Have you tried switching protein shakes? I can't tolerate premier protein shakes but do well with unjury brand. Are you taking Prilosec? I've had to take tums or gas x a couple of times and they both helped. Now at three weeks out I feel nearly normal, hopefully you will too.

When is diarrhea a concern ? tmi
I took Imodium because this happened to me one day. Turns out I can't eat anything with artificial sweeteners that end with the letters "ol". It's like a laxative for me! Check your ingredients on anything you're eating. Sugar free pudding was my culprit. In any case take an Imodium. It totally worked! Hope you can enjoy graduation [emoji67][emoji310]

Pain
I had a pain pump in the hospital and used it (mostly to sleep). It hurt to stand erect for a few days and getting from sitting to standing was uncomfortable for a few days but it wasn't at all unbearable. I used narcotics for three days and then nothing, not even Tylenol. I had zero gas pain as well. Hoping the same for you!

Any tips/tricks for getting all that water in?
This looks interesting! Does it keep your water cold too?

How's your hunger?
Do you think that's due to the sleeve? Low carb? Both?

Hesitant on Diet choices
I'm on restricted carbs and in deep ketosis. Because of that I know I'm burning fat. My shakes are very low carb and I've switched from things like tomato soup and re fried beans to egg salad and chicken salad. It's way more filling. In the early phases it's less important because you barely hit 500 calories. As I've started eating most of my calories I've shifted. Idk what your NUT wants you to do but since she made a note about the shakes I'm going to assume she wouldn't be thrilled with the Trader Joe's shake (I bet it's delicious though).

Eating out with family who doesn't know Help!
Exactly. The two people I've told outside of my immediate circle have asked me twice how much weight ive lost. Last thing I want to deal with while in this stall. When I told one woman she looked me up and down like "really?"...I JUST had surgery ffs it's not all coming off tomorrow. Maybe when I'm further down the road but right now I'm just trying to figure it all out myself. Special shout out to my neighbor who had RNY (I had the sleeve) ten years ago and tells me the surgeon has me on all the wrong vitamins and I shouldn't be on purée yet and has gained more than half her weight back. It's just not worth it.

Thirsty for water ALL the time!
Lol! I feel you. I'm constantly wondering if I'm doing things right. I get so freaked out when I try something new and it doesn't bother my stomach. Eggs seem to bother so many people. I can eat one easily. Scares me!

Gym Anxiety!
Thank you so much for this. I have a lot to think about. I haven't worked out in years and I want to be stronger. I'm just not sure the gym is right for me.

Thirsty for water ALL the time!
No. I thought that too but I asked at my follow up appt last week. Dr said it was good that it didn't hurt to drink and not to worry. I can almost chug water at three weeks out. Crazy!

Gym Anxiety!
Following. I suffer from gym phobia too. I want to walk but I'd have to do it in the morning. Too hot.

Eating out with family who doesn't know Help!
Hysterical! I don't do well with "judgey" people and probably wouldn't tell either. I do like the idea of telling them to eff off though. Hmmm

Holy Dumping Syndrome, Batman!
I'll just leave this here. But the fact remains that you misquoted me. I never said check your mental stability. (Although I'm rethinking that now)

Slow losing....
Right! My body feels different to me. I can feel my weight loss even if it's not showing on the scale. So the scale can collect dust right now!

Holy Dumping Syndrome, Batman!
I just went and re read that thread. Nobody said that you needed to check your mental stability. I said you have to do the mental work. You were having buyers remorse and my response was to try and help you. I felt bad you were down and told you it would get better when you felt physically better. We are not always going to hear what we want to hear. No wonder the vets end up leaving.

Overweight Failure
I've lost 8 lbs since surgery three weeks ago. It's so hard not to feel down but since I've been on this forum for a while now I've read repeatedly not to worry the first month that we are still healing and our body will catch up. It's just so different when it's you! I am trying so hard to not let the scale dictate my mood but it isn't easy. I have just started weighing once a week starting this week. Hang in there it's GOT to move eventually.
