  1. @@Daisee68 Yeah I decided that I am not going back to work tomorrow yet, they will just have to suck it up. That is the plan to call the surgeon tomorrow and find out how they want it handled... What I was reading some doctors drain it and some just let it go away on it own (which may take months) so hopefully I will find out more tomorrow. Yeah after cat scan and blood work they said its seroma. I knew I wasn't exaggerating that something is not right with that pain of mine and overall feeling.
  2. Wow I had a lot of typos in my previous post. Sorry!
  3. Did anyone develop a seroma after your surgery? How was it treated and how long did it take for it to go away?
  4. Just talked to the ER Doctor, no infection but it is seroma. All blood work is good. Guess seroma will take up to few weeks to go away u fortunately it's right at my waist where I wear pants/skirts so it will be tonight going back to work on Tuesday Thanks everyone for the prayers!
  5. Had a cat scan and blood work will see what they will show...
  6. 2 weeks post op, suspect seroma under one of my incisions. It's hard and building, more painful and warm might be infected since I have a mild fever even though the scar itself healed well. After talking to dr on call when to get it checked out. Prayers are appreciated please, I am still emotional and chicken when it comes to stuff like this. Thanks all!
  7. @@Sheriberi Did you have much of pain where the port was after revision? I am 2 weeks out and that area is hard and swollen, scar itself is healed and is fine but inside is what's bothering me. Wonder how long this should last.
  8. I had the band and also was deciding between the two, I ended up going with bypass because I had heartburn issues and also didn't want to have to revise to bypass in the future of the sleeve wouldn't work for me as revisions tend to lose slower and I need to lose over 115 lbs.
  9. @@carelabra I just take some beads in my mouth and take a sip of liquid and repeat. Or you could probably mix it in no sugar added apple sauce or yoghurt when you are allowed to have it.
  10. @@James Marusek I hated the blood thinners as well. All my incisions are doing ok, it's the under incision muscles etc... That's the only thing that's really bothering not me. They gave me lidocaine patches but don't think they do much.
  11. @@addouk I had my surgery on 13th and know exactly what you are going through. First day on purée food was horrible, I couldn't eat even 2 oz of food and was nauseous... Then I started to freak out on how I am going to do this and meet my Protein goals and Fluid goals. So I went back to liquids for a bit, it seems my body wasn't ready yet for purée. Yesterday I made blended hard boiled eggs with a bit of light mayo, little lactose free milk, some salt and dill and it was pretty taste although it took me forever to eat those 2 oz. I am easing into the blended food by doing one or two meals a day being blended he rest is liquids so I can meet my protein goals. It seems to be helping. As for the emotional, you are not alone, I was crying for few days straight, everything would make me cry... I started regretting the surgery, felt like I am not going to ever get better... But surprisingly the last 2 days I am a bit better, I still can't get all my liquids in so every day is a struggle and still get tired very easily but I have hope it will get better. Congrats on the 27 lbs! You just have to try different things and find what works for you. Oh I also made so pudding and added Protein powder to it so that can be a meal as well and I have had hummus with unflavored protein powder as well. Hope you get feeling better!
  12. Nope you are not the only one... I was not on laxatives but still had that happen to me, I thought I was going to pass gas and well... It wasn't gas... Was not fun! Can't trust the farts!Yep, exactly. I'm in the bathroom yelling for my 14yr old daughter to find me clean underwear. Luckily I don't embarrass easily, but it is not fun in the least. Gonna give it the weekend and then call my doctor if it's no better. Good Thing you were home. When it happened to me we were at Lowes, I went there with hubby to do some walking... As soon as it happened I rushed to the restroom to clean myself up, hubby went home to get me clean underwear and pants... Good thing nobody noticed what happened but since then I knew I couldn't trust the farts lol
  13. Congratulations on your surgery date and making the decision to change your life (again). I just had my surgery 2 weeks ago... For me it has been tough but I am taking it one day at a time. I am already down 20 lbs since surgery which is a miracle of its own and starting to feel better
  14. Hi all, I was revised 2 weeks ago to bypass and my biggest incision is where the port was. There was a lot of scar tissue so they really had to dig around to get the port out so I was told that this area will be more sore and pulling/burning which is normal. However I am not sure if the rest of my belly swelling is going down or what but that location seems to be bigger, sticking out more and it's hard underneath. The incision have healed very well but I am concerned about the bulging part of it. I will call the dr on Tuesday and ask since its holiday now, but has anyone else had this?
  15. Nope you are not the only one... I was not on laxatives but still had that happen to me, I thought I was going to pass gas and well... It wasn't gas... Was not fun! Can't trust the farts!
  16. I got wireless bra at target, it is very comfy and I have just been wearing that. You can go back to wearing regular bras whenever you feel ok with it...
  17. Thank you for the kind words... Surprisingly I am not grieving the loss of food, I think I got over it on all my pre op liquid diet...right now it's hard for me to even look or smell food because I have absolutely no appetite (I never thought I would complain about this) but it makes it hard to get my requires Protein and liquids in. What scared me now and is making me emotional is if I will ever will be able to eat what I need to eat so I don't become malnourished and dehydrated... These are the things that are really making me nervous right now plus being exhausted and weak all the time... I am doing a bit better today, I decided not to push blended food yet just because I am due for it (also this was recommended by my dr) so I feel like I am not stressing out about it as much today. I was able to get a pedi, do a load of laundry, go to grocery store and do dishes, now I am resting. Hope everyday I will feel better. I put on pair of jeans I wore before surgery, they were not tight before, but they are nice and baggy now so that was nice to see. I plan to go through my closet my tomorrow and check my clothes for what I can wear right now, hopefully I will have energy to do that.
  18. Yep that's what I have been reading too... Seems today is a bit better, I took pain meds today and was able to do couple of errands.Haven't cried yet today but still get very very tired and feel weak...
  19. I decided I am going back to liquids for a bit longer... Kept getting nauseous today on blended... Dr office said most likely I am not ready yet... Man this whole thing not having appetite is harder than I have ever imagined...
  20. I have pain meds that I need to take but they are super bitter so it's hard to get them down if I mix them into something... So far I have been mixing it into yoghurt but wanted to see if there any other ideas? Also liquid Tylenol makes me gag even diluted, are there any other options?thanks!
  21. Just look at it this way, it's supposed to speed up your healing by taking that stuff out of your body directly. Honestly, don't stress about it. After surgery you will be so busy with walking, getting rid of gas and sipping that I think the drain be the least of your worries.
  22. Yep even few days ago I kept reading and reading and think that I am not going to feel that way and here it is... We will get through this right? We will! I know it! We will look back on these moments and laugh at how silly we were, we will be fit and healthy, looking back on how we used to be with our heads held high, proud of the people we have become. That's why we have to endure the struggle.. Because after that it's just happiness ❤️❤️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App @@jessjames and I am crying again.... This is like PMS x 5
  23. @@secondchance_tx I am 2 weeks out and also breaking out also hope it goes away!
  24. @@Doc'sWife You might not even have the drain. I found out about it at my pre op with surgeon and he said I will have it because I am also having my gallbladder removed and bypass etc.
  25. Yep even few days ago I kept reading and reading and think that I am not going to feel that way and here it is... We will get through this right?
