  1. Thank you for the support pink girl! I am trying to be positive, but if I gain weight on the scale insurance might not approve the revision, so I am really trying to get it down. It's amazing how some people start walking or give up soda or bread and pounds just fall off and here we are fighting with all we've got and gaining. So glad I found this forum, really need this support, thank you!
  2. Wow that is scary indeed, that darn scar tissue! I had my band for 8 years oh boy...
  3. Honestly I cannot even imagine that I will be able to lose the weight... Been at this all my life....revision is my only hope.
  4. Pink girl, I am not scheduled for surgery yet, I am not even approved by insurance yet. They require 3 months of supervised diet and psych evaluation before we can submit to insurance. I am on month 1 right now, my patient surgery coordinator from my surgeons office said that weight loss is ok with this 3 month diet but I need to make sure I don't gain. With my weigh in on 14th I am getting very nervous.
  5. I need help, my scale is going in the wrong direction and I am really trying to do everything right... I cannot gain weight, so I was told in this 3 month diet. It's like my metabolism is completely shut down, really makes me worry if eve RNY will help me
  6. Thanks pink girl yeah I took some alka seltzer chewable didn't help with heartburn. Will have to go to pharmacy get stronger stuff to make It until I go to apt next week.
  7. Hi crazy, Welcome! That is my fear as well, but when I talked to my surgeon about doing revision and I asked him if he does it in one surgery, he didn't seem very concerned... But maybe it depends on a surgeon, some prefer to do it in separate occasions from what I've read.
  8. I made an apt on the 14th since my dr about 1.5 away, I will go see him before I do my diet follow up in the same area. It costs $150 copy for me to do adjustment, really not looking forward to it... Hopefully not for long
  9. Ladies you are awesome! Seriously I feel so blessed to have found you here, I feel like I am finally understood and I am not alone who has gone through it. Pinkgirl, I am the same way, I only had 3 people in my family that knew about the band, I want to keep it this way for the revision.... I will have to come up with some excuse for work, maybe I will just say I have to take care of some medial issues and just have my dr give me note etc. not sure yet how to handle it yet but I will deal with it once I will have it scheduled. How are you doing today? And wow 80+ lbs? That is awesome! Great job! I am preparing myself that it may be a mess in there with scar tissue as well, when I had lap band surgery I also had hiatal hernia repair so I am sure my dr is going to have a hard time as well, but hope it will be worth it to go through it all... I've suffered with lap band for so long and it was all for nothing.
  10. Yup, spot on... I sent a message to my dr, I think I will need him to empty it... I have this knot in my throat that just don't want to go away, heartburn." And overall tightness, and I'm still starving... We will see what they get back to me with.
  11. Trying to eat lunch while at work... I was eating same thing yesterday and it went down fine...No luck today.... Ugh!!! Cannot wait to have it out.... Natalie
  12. Thank you Sandy for sharing your experience, seriously I really appreciate it. I sure hope you keep getting better and better each day. How is your hunger now? I am constantly hungry even as soon as I just eat my portioned meal, it's ridiculous. I am so over this band, I have been regretting it for many years now, also kept thinking I can make it work. Getting nervous what they would find me me as well when they go in to remove it. I still have 2 more months of supervised diet to go through and psych visit in February so looking at end of March insurance submittal... Feels like long ways away... One other thing with work is I don't want people at work knowing what I am doing, I would share with them afterwards if I will start losing weight but I don't want their comments etc before hand... Is that weird? Hope you have a pain free night!Natalie
  13. Pink girl, How are you doing now? I am new here, had my band since 2007, reading your post was like you were reading my mind. I am currently in the process fulfilling my requirements before surgeon's office can submit to insurance for my revision. All these years I was so scared to go this route but was finally fed up after gaining a lot of weight back I decided I have to face my fear and go through it. At that time I had no idea that there have been so many revisions lately, I was glad to learn I was not alone and wasn't the only one that failed! How is your hunger ? My main problem is that I am always so hungry (not head hungry), I am hoping RNY will help me with this. How long did it take for you to recover? I can't really take few weeks off from work so trying to figure things out, I know each person is different though... Thanks! Natalie
