  4. Hi all, Wanted to check if any of you that workout on regular basis (high intensity) take anything for energy? I am 7 months out and normally I have good amount of energy, well even others notice since I lost weight I look more energetic and constantly doing stuff, but personally when it comes to my workouts I just feel drained. My labs are good, I am eating and drinking enough so I just feel like I need some kind of push. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Kind of Before pic... it was not at my heaviest,,, looks like I didn't save any of those pics and the Current pic... down 87 still 42 to go.
  6. @@PrettyThick1 I feel you, I had my band for 8 years, honestly looking back at it I hated it since the beginning. I couldn't eat healthy foods like chicken and other things unless they were drenched in sauce. I felt like a failure and finally I developed horrible heart burn and had to get t emptied few times I kept gaining weight I said I had to do something about it. It was a hard decision to make but I did revise to RNY this year, I am 7 months out and even though I had complications I am so much more happier now and I don't miss my band at all. I am down 87 lbs this year and 42 more till goal. I know some people did well with the band but I was not one of them, just wish I did the revision many many years ago. Hope you find what you are looking for, talk to your surgeon about your options. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I dump on certain foods, like eggs, so it's not necessarily triggered by high fat or sugar food for me... pretty much a little while after I eat I start to get sick to my stomach, hot flashes, cramps, and diarrhea... I learned not to eat anything I haven't had before if I don't have access to the restroom. Once I go to the restroom ( sometimes few times) I am ok after that. Just feels like bad case of runs lol it's not fun and I try to avoid foods that make me dump... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Before (not at my heaviest) and current... 43 more lbs to go, so far down 87 lbs this year Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. The scale will move... I had complications with my revision so I didn't lose anything for a month because of all of the IVs etc. just concentrate on doing what you need to do and to heal after surgery, the weight will come off. I am 7 months out and down 72 lbs + 15 lbs loss more before surgery. I thought I would be that person that will not lose but my dr is saying I am making great progress, I do go through stalls very often and it gets frustrating... I am learning to just concentrate on doing what I need to do and being patient, the scale moves eventually. Keep up good work! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Awesome! I am 18 lbs from onederland... I can't even remember when was the last time I was there... cannot wait. Great job! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I cannot do eggs either, just thinking about them makes me nauseous... crazy, I used to love eggs for Breakfast Oh and creamy Soups...which is not the best for us anyways
  12. I have dogs and no fenced in yard so I have to walk them doesn't matter if I want to or not. But other than that, I just remind myself that doing weights help me gain muscles, more muscle mass better calorie burn at rest. As for cardio, I agree with others that's it's better to have a purspose, I try to bike to the gym do weights and bike back or do errands with bike instead of car as much as possible, or train for 5K
  13. I had my band removed and I developed swelling where the port was... I was first misdiagnosed with seroma which is fluid buildup in the empty space where port was but after reviewing cat scan it showed that it was 7cm Abcess so they had to open up and drain it. Hopefully it is not the case for you, do you have any pain or fever? I felt extremely sick and had low grade fever before we found out what I had.
  14. @@Shrinkinqtpi and @@Ginger Belle Thank you both, I am doing very well now
  15. They ended up being Abcess not seroma, I was mis diagnosed had to have it opened and drowned then had to pack it everyday at home. It took 2 months to heal just now finally closed up... Crazy complication but I am glad I am finally well
  16. I have had the band for 9 years and suffered with it as well... I revised to bypass (my personal choice) 2 months ago and even though I had complication, I love it. I ate chicken today and didn't have horrible "stuck" episode! It was amazing! I wish I have done his so many years ago!
  17. Hmm maybe you have bleeding ulcer somewhere? Sorry you are going through this
  18. If I want juice I get the diet V8 tropical blend, it's nice and refreshing without all the calories and sugar.
  19. I skipped the 3 weeks stall and had it on my week 5, it lasted about 2.5 weeks, today the scale moved again about 2.5 lbs
  20. I stalled at week 5 post op, was stalled for about 2.5 weeks, now lost 2.5 lbs, but I could still see I was losing inches. It was hard not to see the scale move at that time but all I could do just stick to the plan.
  21. Hi @@Debbi1025 I can really relate to you... I had my lap band since 2008 and same thing. My hunger was horrible... I finally revised to bypass on May 13th, and although I have had complication after surgery, I am much happier now. For the first month or so I had no appetite at all, it was very weird.. Now I get hungry when it's time to eat, as long as I eat my high Protein food I am satisfied with about half cup of food. Sometimes I will have a small snack. So far I am down 33 lbs post op, it's not as fast as some other people are losing but it's still going in the right direction and I will take that ! Just remember surgery sleeve or bypass is a tool to help us but you still have to follow plan and change your eating habits.
  22. I ate sashimi yesterday with soy sauce and wasabi, I am 6.5 weeks out and it was delicious...it was definitely a comforting delicious food.
  23. Hi ladies, I had my surgery on May 13. A week before surgery I had my period, then got it again 2 days after surgery, and have not had one since. When I talked to my PA, she said that because of the hormones and me losing weight time it can be out of wack for a bit and said if I am co concerned I should go see my Obgyn. I know everything there was good before surgery so what is Obgyn going to do for me? I guess I was just kind of annoyed by that comment. Have any of you had this? When did your period return?
  24. I had my lap band removed and revised to bypass but about 1.5 after surgery I had a lot of pain in port site area, had fever and underneath the incision was this big bump.. Ended up being Abcess that had to be opened up and drained... I still have it open its been 3 weeks and still have fluid coming out of it, I was also on strong antibiotics... Hopefully they figure out what is happening with your pain, I have been told that I will have soreness for a while in the port area after surgery because of the muscles they had to go through and scar tissue to remove. Hope you feel better
