  1. Not too long after weighted hula hoops came out, I bought one. I got bruised so badly, I looked like a lost a cage fight.

When I lived in Indianapolis, there was a fitness trail on a wooded acre behind St. Vincent Hospital. Since I don't have one anywhere near me in Chicago, I made one in my back yard. I just go to different points in the yard and do an particular exercise at that place. By the time I gone around the yard a few times, I have completed multiple repetitions of several body weight movements....all with no equipment, plus I get fresh air and a short walk out of it.

I love the idea of a fitness walk in the backyard! What exercises are easy to do at the points?

  2. Thanks for the words of encouragement - it helps. My incisions all feel fine. My miserableness seems to be coming from the abdominal Constipation like pain. I have my 1 week check up tomorrow morning so I guess I'll start watching that "Making a Murderer" documentary just to get my mind off of how bad I feel.

At your checkup ask your doc what he reccommends for the constipation! I bet anything that next week you will be feeling much much better.

  3. If you are still feeling that bad, and not getting your Water in, you might want to stop the walking for a few days. Let your body heal and recover. Dehydration is nothing to mess with and can land you in the ER.

You should be at around the turning point where each day is just so much better than the one before. My first 3 days were the only ones that were difficult, but I was just exhausted for the first 2 weeks. As for the BM... it is common to not have one with nothing but liquids. If you feel that constipated feeling, a suppository (or Miralax) might help. Hang in there, it will get better.

  4. Good luck! I was also self-pay. I went across the border to Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras. I am very happy I decided to do this, it is life changing. I look forward to you sharing your journey and progress.

I lived in Harlingen for 10 years. It is so pretty there in the valley, so green... I miss my palm trees, St Augustine, and beautiful yard lol. I now have West Texas bermuda grass and tumbleweeds : (
