  1. You will not be eating big meas of pureed foods you don't like. There is room for choice here.

I didn't really puree anything. Progresssing from liquids I added things allowed in the "puree" stage... cottage cheese, tuna and chicken salad, soft scrambled eggs, refried Beans with cheese, etc..

Seriously, at that stage I was only consuming 2 oz anyway. A little egg for Breakfast, a few bites of chicken salad... they were a great break from the shakes and liquids.< /p>

  2. Not one day of regret here. I felt the "WTF have I done" after lapband surgery... but never experienced it after the sleeve. I am losing at a turtle pace, but I am losing! I have no doubt that I will make goal weight this year.

For me, this is so much better having the lapband that I just don't have any regrets at all. I should add that I lost this slowly with the band also, and still made it to goal... just in a puking, unhappy, and miserable way. I now feel like I am healthy, and can eat healthy foods. I wish I had done this surgery in the first place.

  3. Flying and no rental car. My stomach turns to bloat city when having a ready made shake. Do you use Water for the Syntrax mix? Do you use a blender cup?

Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

The Syntrax blend really easy with just a spoon, they don't clump or leave floating chunks like some of the mixes do. Yes, the fruit flavors are best mixed with Water. Fuzzy Navel is a flavor that I see a lot of people like, tastes like Tang. The Cappucinno is my favorite.

  4. Buy some refried Beans... they are pinto Beans already mashed. Nice source of Protein and Fiber. Heat and top with some cheese and salsa... or just grated cheese. Yum!

Canned pinto beans are good if you add some seasonings. I like onion, garlic, cilantro, jalapenos... but I am Southern, and love the spicy and highly seasoned foods.

Heat refried bean (which are pinto beans) and do a spoonful with some soft scrambled egg and top with cheese.

  5. Old Navy jeans fit me horribly too. I have a pair of 14 skinny jeans that I got at Walmart that are midrise and don't gape... I don't recall the brand, but they were under $20. Great with boots. Great price, and just right for a transitional piece.

I found two pair at Catos that were on sale for like $15 (and super cute with bling pockets) that fit great. I really think it is best to just go try on stuff. We are all built so different, but I also carry more weight in my butt and thighs. Just remember that a 14-16W size is cut much different than a 14 or 16 Misses, so trying on is really the best way to find what fits your new size. Go explore.

  6. Love the positive attitude! I think 80 lbs lost in a year is wonderful, and even better that you are still losing and realize that you can still work this. I am also embracing the journey and changes... not just the goal (I am a turtle loser too, lol.)

You sound like you are making the most of this and have a great attitude towards the life changes that can, and sometimes SHOULD, occur! Good for you on working on self-improvement along with this weight-loss. I bet your next year (this year) will be even better.
