  1. So the tech put Oxygen on you? not the CPAP but Oxygen? If they put O2 on you then you will come back for a CPAP titration. Unless you have some sort of Chronic Lung Disease (COPD ect.) that is causing your O2 to go down even without apnea.
  2. hi As a sleep tech I do have to let you know that using the CPAP will help in more ways than you realize. Using your CPAP will help you loose weight by letting you sleep correctly thus, allowing your body to heal itself and lower stress hormones that cause weight gain. These are just things that will help in the short term. Long term is so much more. I know it's hard to get used to, like anything thats good for us, you have to sacrifice. Most people that have problems with CPAP is because of a incorrect mask fit. Call your lab or Medical equipment company and see about different masks. If you have any questions feel free to ask. :huh2:
  3. thank you I will have to look into that. We don't have it at work yet but will. I've recently found out that its Anthem BCBS VA PPO keycare 1000. How does anyone keep up with all of it? My BMI is like 39 but I have back problems from childhood (one leg is longer than the other casing curvature) Ect. i thank all of you for your replys!
  4. I'm fixing to get Anthem BCBS at my work soon! i sooooo hope that it goes as smoothly for me! I am happy for you! One thing, is your insurance key care by chance? they say ours is going to Anthem BCBS VA keycare 1000
  5. oh thanks. I am calling the HR Dept today just to ask some simple questions to make sure my paperwork is ok and they can't even give me a straight answer! UGH. I guess I will have to just wait for them to decide when my enrollment date is ect. and THEN I'll get me break down of my benefits. I have a feeling this isn't going to go smoothy. I appreciate your response and I will be watching you too.
  6. Hi- I have been one of the many Americans without medical insurance (and I work in the medical field!) for over 5 years. Anywho- I just recently found out that we are getting Medical Insurance through Anthem BCBS PPO Virginia (I live in Texas). I am still in the process of filling out initial paperwork ect. I don't officially have the insurance quite yet but will in the next few weeks. I have not gotten my official disclosures and medical coverage explanation packet yet but I am hoping that one of you out there have had a good experience through them and gotten accepted?!?! The one thing besides total non coverage for the band that I am worried about is that they are going to need 5 years of medical history. I have not had insurance and therefore I have not had a continuous medical history at all. Am I SOL? If anyone has any suggestions on getting started, Dr.s, Lawyers, anything please let me know! I live the The Woodlands Texas area (30 miles N. of Houston) Thank you!
  7. I don't know your situation but, if you go through a financing company they charge a 10% fee on top of the $9500. I read on here though that there is another Dr. in Dallas that is $9500 I don't know if they do the same thing if you finance though.
  8. thanks, I'm pretty confident that I will be able to be financed. I just have restrictions on how much I will be able to pay out every month. Thank you for all your experiences! I'm thinking that approx. $175-$200 a month (at $7000, Mexico prices) per your experiences will be something that I can handle! yeah!
  9. Hi I'm glad to see this thread. Can anyone that has gotten 100% financing and is willing to tell, please let me know how much your payments are every month. Anything beyond that (ie: % rate, years have to pay) would be great! Thank you!
  10. Hi I'm new here. I have been pretty actively investigating the lap band for about 6-8 months now. I have no insurance so I am pretty much positive I'm going to Mexico Im in the woodlands area as well (Hi PJ333). The main thing I have been looking for on here is the monthly payment amount for the self payers. If anyone can direct me that would be great. I am 25 and gained weight with my 1st and only pregnancy. that was almost 7 years ago and I'm stuck at about 215, I'm 5'3''. I want to make a change for the better of myself and my family. Thanks!
