I think I have all the hoops jumped through that I know of. I have one more weight check with my PCP in March and then i think we can submit for insurance. I just had my LEEP on Wednesday of this week. I really, really need it to come back negative. If those margins are clear......you'll probably hear screaming from here! And what gives with a sudden 10pound gain? That sucked this morning. How is your process going Elizabeth105? -
I had my Pulmonary function test today and when I questioned the tech as to why I had to do this, she replied that the Doc could decline to clear me for surgery if I don't pass the test. I get to find out the results on Monday. My question to others; has this ever happened? Has anyone been told no to surgery because of PFT test?

For those of you with a starting BMI of 50 or more, how long was the wait?

I have BCBS and I only have to do a 3mo supervised diet, psych eval, pulmonary eval and PFT, and a Gallbladder US. I have a BMI of 56 right now. only one more Dr diet visit and then I get my date! -
The PFT is a four part test that requires you to breathe through a tube into a computer. It measures your lung function and capacity. I started everything Jan3, 2016. I have one Dr weigh in left and then a preop apt with my surgeon. I was told that if everything is good, i'll have surgery in April. He doesn't require the crazy 2-4wk liquid diet and I'm so relieved! Good luck to you on your journey!

I went into the intial consulation wanting the sleeve, but since my BMI is 57 my surgeon will only consider RNY. I'm still not sold on the whole re-routing part of it, but RNY does have a higher weight loss % in 5year+ studies. Good luck and let us know what your doc says.

Tomorrow I get to check yet another task off my to-do list...I get my psych eval. The counselor who scheduled me said to expect an hour in the office. I'm wondering how she will make a decision after only an hour. Heck I don't know what she's going to decide on! What did your psych eval entail?

I haven't told anyone, except my husband, what my plans are. I simply don't want to hear the negative response I will get. Have/will you told anyone? I mean, it's not a huge secret, I just don't want to deal with stupid. -
