    Port question - newbie

Thank you. I'm just concerned how prominent it is even now. If it gets bigger as I lose weight I'm going to be incredibly self conscious about it.
  2. Hi everyone I everyone. I am four days in to my lap band journey and have noticed that the area where the port is located is extremely large. I am only 210lb now (dropped nearly 20 already since preop diet) but I am worried that I will have a huge swelling under my left rib forever. Is this normal or will it become less pronounced as the swelling goes down. Can anybody tell me what happened with yours please? I'm very worried about it. Thank you
  3. Banded this morning and I'm sat in hospital bed ready for a hopefully good nights sleep. Can't wait to get this started, in need of some energy as nothing but Water for 24 hours now but I really can't wait to see the new me! Good luck to everyone in their journey.

Just be aware that Dr O'Briens approach to drinking when eating isn't accepted by most doctors. Your doctor may have a different plan for you. I will thank you. In general I never drink whilst eating anyway, I tend to drink after food so I'm not planning on my drinking changing much.

Those videos are superb. Thanks for posting, I learnt so much more. Just over two weeks till band day
  6. March 19 for me. 222lb currently, want to lose 54lb
  7. Thank you, that is very helpful. Can't wait to start this, eight weeks still seems so far away
  8. Hi everyone, I'm 231lb 5 Foot 11 inches and booked in March for lap band. Read the stories on these forums tonight, wow! Unbelievable really how so many of you have done do great. I have just two questions if I may ask: 1: given my profile, upon average loss what would most of you guess my final weight will when all is said and done? 2: Protein drinks. Are these for life or just a few months? I read conflicting reports, my surgery said not overly important but many of you seem to be on them for a long while. Thanks for stopping by and keep up the good work
  9. My first post. Bel1995 I too am from uk and being banded in March. I've spent an hour tonight reading the success stories on these forums and it's pretty inspiring. I've been a huge yoyo dieter over the years but I'm convinced this offers better stability (and support) which is what has let me down over the years. I am 231lb and 5 ft 11''. I wish I could be doing this tomorrow, I can't wait to get back into the clothes I used to wear, play with the kids, not hear my knees crack going up stairs, move without feeling my gut. It HAS to be worth it. Roll on 180lb!
