    CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

You are going to do great! I am 2 days post op, still in the hospital and have ZERO complaints so far. Upper GI went great, I was nervous about putting liquid in my new stomach, but my mind over thought and it went fine! You can do this, remember that you will be able to eat those foods you love again, but in normal, healthy portions. It's not "goodbye" to it forever.

    CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

Hi fellow sleevers and soon to be! I am in my room, have been since around 11:00 (I think) the surgery went great. I'm glad to be on the other side of it now and starting my new life. Pain is minimal except in one area at the very top of my abdomen, right under the esophogus. It hurts like air is trapped, with just a little burning. Nothing I can't sleep through. They gave me more pain meds when i asked and I just took a little nap. I also just got back from walking. Went great too! Tip: I remembered from my past c-sections, to hold a pillow over your tummy and push on it when I was getting up. Also when walking around. It helped me with pain. All in all, I'm doing well. Can't wait to see everyone else's updates from surgery today!

Have any of you had to wash with the Hibiclens before surgery? I have surgery tomorrow, and I can't seem to find the instructions my doctor gave me on the frequency of washing. What were you directions as to when you are supposed to wash?

    CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

I'm feeling hunger pains more now than I did in the beginning! I haven't cheated, but feel overwhelmed today because I'm just not in the right mindset. Maybe I need to add 1 more shake to my day.

Started my 10 day pre surgery liquid diet today

B12 is a great addition for you. The surgeons in our area all require it. You may want to try to add 500mcg B12 to your regular vitamin!! It will help after surgery too. They have quick dissolving tablets and go under your tongue. ????

Started my 10 day pre surgery liquid diet today

I am on day 6 of a 14 day liquids only diet. Surgery is on July 5!! Excited, but a little nervous. I will say, the first few days were harder than the rest....but it still gets hard! I have to avoid family gatherings that involve food (like BBQs) right now. I hope everyone else does well. HANG IN THERE!! A little secret: I waited until day 4 to eat some Beef broth...it tasted SOOOOOO GOOOD!!! Its amazing what tastes good when you wait a few days before waking up your taste buds.
  11. Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and website. I am wondering if any of you are having trouble staying motivated during the initial weight loss process before surgery? I have Kaiser Permanente insurance and their bariatric program is great, BUT, I need to lose a little more weight before my final nutritionist appointment in April. If I don't lose the amount they want me to, my case file wont even go to the "approval committee" to be considered for a surgery date. If I lose the last bit of weight, my file will be complete and I will be looking at a mid-late June surgery date. (YAY!) I just can't seem to stay motivated. I want the surgery, but going on another diet just seems impossible for me. I'm so sick of diets and eating foods I hate only to feel hungry the entire day. Losing the last 5-10 pounds before my visit in April is doable, but getting my butt motivated to cook meals at home with the husband and kids not following the same plan is tough. What do you guys do when you get in the "diet rut"? Thanks, Ashley
