    Weight loss timeline

Updating... because I'm so excited! CW: 198.8 Down 43.2 pounds in 10 weeks. It feels like a miracle to be under 200 lbs again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  2. eggs and Beans are both very inexpensive, packed with Protein, and easy on the new tummy. I'm 3 weeks out from a sleeve plus hiatal hernia, and these two things are easy on me. Ramen noodles have 0 nutritive value, tons of sodium, and carbs. When your body says NO, you need to listen. Be careful! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  3. Thanks so much for caring, sincerely! So I'm dehydrated. Blood pressure just 88/57. Had to call in ultrasound just to get a vein for an IV, mine kept blowing out. On top of that, I have a UTI which caused the fever/chills and abdominal discomfort. I didn't have any pain while urinating so I had no clue. I had the full workup and CT with contrast, wounds examined, he says it is perfectly fine and healing well. I have been measuring my fluids and shakes, but as I said, I have been so so so thirsty even so. I need to do my best to drink even more. I had to drink 16 oz of Water with the dye inside and was scared I couldn't. But with minimal discomfort I finished in 40 min. So I've been too scared to keep drinking even when thirsty because I thought I'd vomit or hurt myself. Turns out I need to listen to my body because it is water starved! I'm getting antibiotics as ns Fluid, and will go home in a couple hours. Thanks again do much. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

    Day after Surgery

I had it for the first few days. To me it felt like a severe hunger cramp. On day 3, I called the doctor and he put me on nexium. Since then, it's been better. It may be acid. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thank you! I called my surgeon and he wants me to go to the ER to be on the safe side. I'm hoping it's nothing, but I will update you with news. Thanks again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  7. Hi everyone. I've been feeling off all day. I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, a few spoons of tomato basil Soup for lunch, and another Protein Shake at dinner. In between, I'm drinking lots of Water but feel thirsty all the time. So today I got chills and my fingernail beds turned blue for about 15 minutes. I have a tiny temp of 100.1 but most bothersome is burping, a little tummy cramping, and just a very uncomfortable feeling in the bowels. I haven't had any BM issues. Am I over analyzing... I mean, am I being neurotic? I'm so uncomfortable but I thought I was doing everything right. Anyone else dealt with this kind of discomfort and what was causing it? 8. I love you all. Many of us have identical struggles. I cried reading this. I'm one week in, plus 2 weeks liquid preparation diet. I thought I couldn't live without Dr Pepper and sugary Venti hot Chai from Starbucks. I sip, sip, sipped one or the other all day every day. When I started the 2 week diet, I didn't do any "lasts" because I'd been doing "one last pigout" every Sunday before my Monday failed diet started for years. I made this one different. The shocking thing is... I downed so much caffeine and sugar constantly BECAUSE I felt so tired and run down... then I started the 2 week pre op diet, and I felt amazing. I didn't feel worn out, sick, constantly exhausted anymore after the first 2 days. It hit me... The stuff I thought was keeping me surviving busy days with five kids? It was actually the stuff that kept me on a constant sugar crash and unable to sleep well at night, so I was exhausted mombie by day. This week, I found myself wishing I'd truly done a high Protein diet without any sugary drinks years ago. It never would've gotten this baf. But then again, without surgery looming... I probably never would have stuck to it long enough to know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

    My new sleeved life

I'm so happy for you! I realized that the more weight I gained, the more friends/hobbies I lost. It wasn't their fault... it was mine. I just crawled into myself because of my insecurities. I'm sad about the years I've wasted, but 1 week in, I'm so glad I didn't waste the rest of my life. Enjoy!!!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

    Aug 1st is the day

Thinking about you! I woke up with gas pain and it scared me, because it was so bad I was afraid something was wrong. After walking the floor with my nurse, I started burping and felt so much better. Walk, walk, walk... it's worth it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

    Need Advice/Help Please

My surgeon and hid staff beat it into my head before surgery: Vomiting is NOT NORMAL and I need to come in to see him if I am. I'm on Zofran for nausea. I only threw up once, I think from drinking too fast on the 3rd day. You need to be assertive. This is NOT okay. If your surgeon won't help, find one who will. I'm so, so sorry. What I wish I had known...

I am really glad you had a great experience. But yours is the experience I had been led to believe that I would have, and when it was nothing like that, I have to admit that it hit me pretty hard. I am definitely doing much better now, but I felt really mislead because I wasn't warned of other difficult circumstances that might arise as a result of the surgery. I certainly don't think that my experience is the "gold standard", but I really don't want pre-ops to assume that everything is going to be ideal. I wish everyone could have a recovery without difficulties, but it's just not going to work that way for some. Thanks for your comment; it's inspiring! I hope the rest of your journey is great, too!Yes... I believed this was how it would be for me, as well. I knew the actual incisions would be painful, but I didn't expect the rest. I truly was in the dark and wish I'd been better prepared. Though I'm only a week in! I hope it gets easier, but even if not, I know it was worth it. Also sooooo very glad that I kept it to myself. My husband, his parents, and my kids (kinda) know. No one else. I only shared that I was having a hernia repaired, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. I don't want to be watched or to "hear it" from the negative worry warts in my life. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

    Surgery Date: 07/25

One week in! I'm on Nexium for acid now, and it has helped a lot. I don't get pain every time I swallow anymore. I started at 242 three weeks ago. I was at 233.8 on surgery day. Today, I am 224.6. That's a crazy 17.4 pounds in 3 weeks. That's all the motivation I need to keep choking down isopure zero carb. I do feel you on the Water @@MightyMittenMimi though. I feel thirsty all the time, but anything more than a sip starts me belching and uncomfortable. I just want to chug down a bottle of water one time. I did cry today, though. This is really hard. My Crazy Gastric sleeve

My surgeon emphasized over and over that vomiting is NOT normal, and that we need to be seen for that. I'm so sorry! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
