    Back in the Game Again

I totally agree with Dub. Take some me time to get yourself together. We always want to have someone by our side, but we Latinos have a saying "mejor sola que mal acompañada". Translation "better to be alone than in bad company". I spend years going from one bad relationship to another. I finally said enough is enough. I'm worth a lot more than what I'm getting. I took time for just my son and I. 2 years later, not looking, I was sent the perfect man for me. Five years later and he is now my Fiancé and my biggest cheerleader. My advice, take time for you, your knight will come

    How sad is this?

After doing weight watchers 6 different times and still needing help, I just don't want to hear it anymore. I totally understand
  6. Wow. The fur is flying. Can't we all agree to disagree. This lady obviously felt comfortable enough to ask a personal question in hopes to not be bashed. But all anyone can do is bash her about smoking marijuana. She needs opinions from others that can relate, not ignorance from those who can't. We are all here for a common cause, to support each others weight loss journeys. Remember the old saying, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
  7. Just wondering if I have many neighbors in here.

    I'm just me

I am a 42 year old single mother to a 15 year old son. I recently got engaged in November to a wonderful man who has been my rock for 5 years. He loves me from the inside out. I've been overweight all my life. Always the bigger girl. That never stopped me though. I went to all the parties, dances and proms. I always had dates. But I was pretty self conscious most times. From age 16 until about 23 i was in an abusive relationship. But my insecurities held me back. At 23, i got the nerve to leave, by then I was about 245. I got into a relationship that although not physically abusive, it was emotionally draining. 12 years of crap and a son later, i weighed in at 260 lbs. I finally found myself and decided to stay alone. At 37 my knight in shining armour was sent to me. I've been up and down with my weight, mostly up. I dread family vacations became all i could think of was, will I be able to fit in the ride with my guys? Oh the walking is going to kill me. Will people stare if I eat an ice cream? I finally decided to get the help I need. I'll be getting the Sleeve, hopefully in 2 months. I'm excited, scared but oh so ready. I just wanted to share who I am and why I'm here. The best is yet to come. I love me.
  10. Thank you Chavezmommie . Best of luck to you also
  11. My final straw was in July 2015. A few days before leaving for my Florida vacation with my son and fiancé, i was at work and started to have chest pain. Slight at first, but it progressed quickly. I never felt anything like that before. My co-workers and boss were with me, they called an ambulance and rushed me to the hospital. They believed I was having a heart attack. 6 hours and countless tests later, they sent me home. I had to do a stress test, and found out it WASN'T my heart, but something called an esophageal spasm. I went to GI to have a Gastro endoscopy. I have GERD. They gave me pills and send me home. A few days later I got on a ride in universal and the restraint was SO tight, I felt like I was going to die. That's when I said, enough is enough. I have two more nutritionist appointments (ins requires 6). Then I'll be on my way. I just want to be able to fit on a ride. That's not too much to ask. Is it?

    737Captian...

My favorite thing to do in turbulence is to go "wheeeeeeeeee" real loud. It cracks everyone up and reduces tension.True story Hilarious I'm new at this

Whenever I'm going to fly, the first thing I do is say a prayer. (If religious, or just meditate and relax if not religious). This helps me focus and realize that whatever happens is out of my control. I like to take something with me to distract myself. Kindle, books, ipod, ipad, anything to focus on besides the flight. I prefer headphones and a movie. I bring gum to keep my mouth busy if I get nervous. Those are some of my "get through" things. Most of all, I remind myself WHY I am flying and the excitement usually overtakes the fear.
  14. I congratulate you on your weight loss. I too agree that your doctors expectations are obsurd. Keep doing what you are doing and don't let the doctor make you feel like a failure because you are victorious

Who do you want to be after?

Honestly, I just want to run into any store and grab a cute dress and shoes and not dread about how awful it will look on me. The one outfit I really look forward to wearing is a basic white tee tucked into a basic pair of jeans and a belt. That's all I ask
