  1. Thanks for your replies. I’m pretty sure I have it. I noticed that I was unable to smell pretty much everything and my taste was off so that’s why I got tested. Otherwise I think I have a very mild case of it thank god. I’ll call my doctors office on Monday, I was just disappointed I thought I was doing so well and then bam I get it right before my surgery. Of all the luck in the world.

  2. Hey guys just venting. I have been approved for a revision to gastric bypass from VSG due to severe GERD and just found out I have COVID. I'm super disappointed. There will be three weeks in between from when I tested positive to my surgery date and I've researched that people can continue to test positive even though they are no longer infectious. I'm sure my doctor's office will reschedule I'm just sad this happened. Not much I can do about it now. COVID sucks.

  3. I just had the surgery on 12-22 and I have 4 children ages 12, 10, 6 and 3. I think it's very important you have someone (husband, partner, friends, relatives) to help you at home. Otherwise you will be suffering having to do everything yourself and this could cause you to end right back in the hospital. Best of luck to you!

  4. I too am also on my pre-op I'm 2 days away from surgery and I feel much better than I did when I first started. I've lost 8lbs and I couldn't be happier that it's finally here. I'm glad to have found this website to read about other people's experiences. It's good to share with people who have gone through or are sharing in what your going through.

  5. Hi guys! I'm new to this forum but I have begun the journey towards getting sleeved. My question is I have a BMI of 38.7 which is slightly lower than the 40 required by my health insurance. I have only one co-morbidity. My doctor says that I will not know if I will be approved until I go through this whole six month process. Does anyone else have Excellus BCBS and can comment on this? I will be very disappointed if thats the case. Anything that I could do to strengthen my case to my insurance company? Thank you.
