Bariatric journey Multiple procedures Since 2016 Long-term post-op
  1. I was just revised from the sleeve to the bypass on the 23rd and my pain is minimal. Doing my best to get fluids in. I gained 10 pounds during my hospital stay so hoping that will come off pretty fast. I haven't had any incidences of reflux so I'm super happy about that.

  3. I’m Scheduled March 23rd. Keeping my fingers crossed it won’t get rescheduled again.
  4.    ksgypsy reacted to a post in a topic: diagnosed with COVID before upcoming surgery
  5. Thanks for your replies. I’m pretty sure I have it. I noticed that I was unable to smell pretty much everything and my taste was off so that’s why I got tested. Otherwise I think I have a very mild case of it thank god. I’ll call my doctors office on Monday, I was just disappointed I thought I was doing so well and then bam I get it right before my surgery. Of all the luck in the world.
  6. Hey guys just venting. I have been approved for a revision to gastric bypass from VSG due to severe GERD and just found out I have COVID. I'm super disappointed. There will be three weeks in between from when I tested positive to my surgery date and I've researched that people can continue to test positive even though they are no longer infectious. I'm sure my doctor's office will reschedule I'm just sad this happened. Not much I can do about it now. COVID sucks.
  7. I was sleeved 12/22/16 and I've weigh 196 so down 58 lbs since surgery. I also have noticed the slow down on weight loss, but I have started exercising and I will keep doing what I'm doing.
  8. I was sleeved on 12/22 and I'm down 39lbs can't wait to be under 200.
  9. I was sleeved on 12/22 Starting weight: 254 Current weight: 225 Can't wait to be in ONEderland!
  10. I'm from Syracuse and I also had my surgery on Dec 22nd.
  11. I just had the surgery on 12-22 and I have 4 children ages 12, 10, 6 and 3. I think it's very important you have someone (husband, partner, friends, relatives) to help you at home. Otherwise you will be suffering having to do everything yourself and this could cause you to end right back in the hospital. Best of luck to you!
  12. I am a few days post op and all I can do is sip. If I start feeling uncomfortable I stop for awhile and resume once I feel better. I can't wait for this stage to be over. I'm not hungry but I want to eat something real. I'm just trying to be patient.
  13. Oh I also wanted to mention if I drink something hot like broth it seems to go down easier. I'm definitely not meeting my goals but my surgeon said just take one day at a time and I do feel better each day like I'm taking in more fluids.
  14. I was sleeved on 12/22 and I also am having issues with burping. It's pretty uncomfortable. Have you tried gas x?
  15. I was sleeved on the 22nd I felt awful that day and yesterday I slept all day. Today I feel much better they gave me a protein shake which I've been sipping. Hoping to go home today!

  18. I too am also on my pre-op I'm 2 days away from surgery and I feel much better than I did when I first started. I've lost 8lbs and I couldn't be happier that it's finally here. I'm glad to have found this website to read about other people's experiences. It's good to share with people who have gone through or are sharing in what your going through.
  19. I'm scheduled for Dec. 22nd! Counting down the days.
