  1. Man I forgot this thread was here. Well, I'm a little over a year out, down around 100lbs. I've hit plateaus here and there. Sometimes not eating like I should, not always exercising like I should. But every day is a new start. Overall, I wouldn't change a thing! I weigh less now than I did when I was in middle school! The pink shirt pic is from my heaviest weight, a bit over 400lbs. The next one is just a few months old, feeling better than I ever have.

First appointment with my PCP today. Down 50lbs! Feeling great! Having trouble getting my liquids in during the day simply because I get busy or distracted while working and forget. Does anyone know of a timer app that might help? Everyone says my face looks so different!

    Merry Christmas to Me!

Well, little over a week down. Still learning what goes down well and what doesn't, though I admit I have tried a few things I probably shouldn't have. But I paid the price for that! Went to my first post op Doctor appointment, down 10lbs since surgery! Can't wait to see the results once I'm able to start some cardio!
  8. I finally did it, I was sleeved on the 21st! I'm Dennis, married, 30 years old with a VERY active two year old. I'm from a farming family in rural NC, so I was always active outdoors, hunting, fishing, etc. Just like many of the folks here, my weight has been a lifelong struggle. I was over 300lbs by the time I was 15, until I hit my all time high of 405lbs at 19. I'm 30 now, and for the last 5-7 years, I have maintained right around 350, sometimes more, sometimes less. I had been looking at WLS for a long while, but it always seemed to take a back burner to whatever else I had going on. I finally decided that this was my year, I wanted to be able to keep up with my son, and just be able to enjoy life in general, without being so self conscious or tiring out so easily. I wanted to feel good about myself! I had a fairly easy process, from my first seminar to the surgery date was only about 4 months. I'm now just a few days out, and adjusting well. Christmas day wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I really had no desire to eat a thing. Getting my fluids in has been a chore enough! I'm going to use this thread to document my journey, post progress pictures, and just stay encouraged and on track. Surgery Day! 12-21-15
  9. I'm home now. Not a lot of pain, just uncomfortable, I've found that it hasn't worked for me to lay flat, causes a lot of gas pain for some reason. Also, pick yourself up some Gas-X strips, I read that somewhere else here and boy what a relief! Still difficult to get all my liquids in, popsicles and broth go down pretty easy for me.
  10. Yesterday was my big day too! How is everyone holding up? I had a rough first night, lots of nausea and vomiting, but much better today!
  11. LMAO Surgery went great yesterday, I had a bit of a rough time after, had a lot of vomiting and pain. Feeling great now though!
  12. Thanks everyone for the great infor! Tomorrow is the big day! Wish me luck! And I should have added, I am a dude, lol. But thanks for the advice! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Hi guys, I'm Dennis, from NC. I've been lurking around this forum for awhile, just taking it all in and learning. With my surgery in just a few days (the 21st), I felt like I should stop in, introduce myself and say thanks to everyone for all the information and for sharing their experiences, both good and bad. I can't tell you how beneficial it has been. With that said, any last minute pointers before my surgery?
